Geeze - this is the first time I've regretted leaving Ontario. That's a helluva lineup.

I'm somewhat skeptical due to past experience with this sort of thing.
Rush had something similar for tickets to the 30 anni. tour and that was in fact bullschiesse. You resgistered through their web site as a 'fanclub' member and got access to tickets offered through some third party (not ticketmaster) several days before they went on sale through TM. First, loads of scalpers were involved since all you had to do was sign up to get a password. Second, the tickets basically sucked - there were a handfull of quality tix (first 5 rows) but the bulk were 30 rows back and on the sides or in the second section back (this was a shed tour).
However, this is The Hip and not Rush (who can be REALLY clueless w/ regard to dealing w/ fans). Since The Hip have always treated their fans well, I expect FiL ticketing to be decent.
However part deux, this section from the ticket policy puts up a warning sign:
"For shows that are reserved seating, tickets held for purchase, via thehip.com, will be spread over various sections and areas in the venue. Seats are sold on a first come, first served basis, with best available seating assigned to each order as it is placed. Purchasers will not have access to seating charts, or ability to choose where the seats are. The seats you receive, are the seats you receive."
I don't know if I'd want to buy tickets not knowing where they will be (could be up in the rafters) without some type of guarantee or precedent. If you buy and something better comes up through TM, you have to eat the first set or possibly be banned from future purchases through thehip.com. If there was wording in the ticket policy to the effect that all tickets through thehip.com will be better than those through TM, then it's a no brainer.
I would rather see a Ten Club type (nominal fee) set up where you KNOW you'll get better seats than going through TM, eventhough you don't know exactly what you'll get until you pick the tix up at the box office before the show. I thought something similar was to be part of the New Hip Club.

Fort York will be general admission.
