Yay! Flames win in a blowout, 6-1 over the hapless Coyotes. It was nice to see our PP finally clicking and the boys getting some confidence offensively. Kipper and the defence were much better tonight as well, and another monster hit by Phaneuf set the tone early. I know, I know, it's the freakin' Coyotes, but a win is a win. We'll take it. I just hope the team can carry this confidence into Saturday's game against Nashville. Something tells me that game will be much tougher than what transpired tonight. Man, Phoenix is horrible. Wayne must be pulling his hair out.

GO FLAMES!!!

I only wish they would dress Goddard for games like these. Gotta give it to McCarty for even droppin em with BGL.

Well, the Senators looked good again, while looking incredibly mediocre. I really hate Tucker (which means he is doing his job), but to start a fight with Eaves? Come on... good to see Fisher treat him like the trash he is. Thursday should be interesting, and the Senators will be ahead of the Leafs in the standings come Saturday night (or at the very least, one point back with two games in hand). And do Leafs fans even remember why they're 'booing' Alfredsson anymore? Somebody had to take out the aforementioned trash... and that was four years ago. I guess I'll never understand Leaf's fans...

But who has been the bigger flop this year? Gerber or Raycroft? Considering the salary differential, and the fact that I consider Emery one of the most under-utilized and under-rated goalies in the league (and I'd say in his minimal play this year, he has proven his talent), I think Gerber is a complete flake... that Sundin goal tonight? Flashes of Lalime in the playoffs in 2004... ouch...

I think you should let Leafs fans worry about why they're booing Alfredsson.

And, I'll tell ya, routinely thrashing us in regular season games isn't doing anything to endear him to us.

Raycroft a flop? Huh? 2.81GAA and .903 save percentage on a team that is widely acknowledged as being weak defensively and you consider him a flop? Compare those numbers Belfour's last year (3.29, .892) and it is clear that Raycroft has done his job.

As for the booing of Alfredsson, you are right - Leaf fans should be cheering him. It was his weak-ass backcheck on Pominville that got the Sens bounced early in the playoffs last year AGAIN. For that I love Alfie! But I wish he'd offer up more Cup winning guarantees.

I can't fathom why you Leaf fans don't like Tucker. He's the second best player on your team. He fights, scores, hits, and is a pest. You should be lucky you have him on your team. Most teams would kill for a feisty guy who scores around 30 goals.

I don't think that most Leaf fans dislike Tucker. I used to loathe the guy, but he's not nearly as annoying as he used to be. When his brother-in-law/boyfriend Corson was on the team he was always yapping to the refs and whining about this and that, not to mention flopping around the ice like he was Hasek or something.

As for the fighting, yeah, I'm glad that he's a pest who is willing to drop them, unlike that puke Matt Cooke who likes to play big but refuses to drop 'em.

Well, yeah, you bring up a great example. I hate Matt Cooke. I was dying to see him traded in the offseason. He's a coward, plain and simple. I would LOVE to have Tucker on the Canucks as a fan of the team. He could play on the 1st or 2nd line and provide scoring and tougness to a team that desperately needs a little of both.

Damn - They just offered Tucker $18 million over 5 years.

I think 5 years is too long of a deal for Tucker but the average annual salary is fine. Tucker deserves between 3 to 4 million a year for his play.
