I'm sure I will be fine but you might be able to help Chris out...
It's Trev's wedding, so he better say that he's covered for a "date".

And as far as a date for me is concerned... my girlfriend was planning on coming, but I'm sure that it would be OK if you want to come as well.

Not from Southern ON but as a recommendation to those of you planning the trip you could easily do a Buffalo-to-Rochester-to-Syracuse-to-Burlington-to-Albany trip. For those of you looking for a club like atmosphere I highly recommend any show in Burlington. I showed up at the venue 10 minutes before the doors opened and was on the railing the entire show including Sam Roberts. I'll be living near Rochester by the time the tour starts so I'm centrally located for a Buffalo-Rochester-Syracuse trio of shows :thumb: and I will never miss a Burlington show!!!

I hope you all can make the trip...a hip show in the states is always a grand experience!!

I could take off as long as a week for a road-heavy trip. I'm an 8-4:30er but there's no problem with me taking time off, especially for a Hip Trip. I'd love to go see them in the US sometime! My Jeep definitely isn't road worthy though... I worry about just making it to work and back eeach day, let alone for a trip.

Having a bus would be a great idea. Sounds like lots of fun

Wow... now this is why I shouldn't be staying away from the 'base for as long as I did!

I am definitely interested and intrigued in this Hip road trip idea, but I can't commit myself to anything right now as my job/vacation situation is very much up in the air right now. However, when the tour dates come out, I will hopefully know more... and hopefully I can join this trip as well! :thumb:

Wow, I need a real live Hip fix bad! :jump

Busting on the US is all good, until the Hip come down, then it's like "Let's all go!" Stay home. Tongue Seriously, come on down, met tons of great Canucks over the years at Hip shows, just leave the freakin flags at home ! Smile

Exactly. If they leave the "freakin' flags" at home, then we can't take them, and everyone's happy!

[professional-sounding, Phil Hartman-style voice-over]: Keep Canadian flags in Canada. Because Hip Fans know where The Hip come from. And no one cares where YOU come from.

This message paid for by Fans Against the Embarassment of the Bands They Intend to Support, a nonprofit organization committed to raising awareness about the egocentric and annoying practice of engaging in raucous and overzealous exploits of hyper-nationalism including, but not limited to: flag waving, flag unfurling, flag adornment, flag draping, flag wrapping, flag twirling, flag clothing, the wearing of protective hockey equipment, the pouring of Canadan lagers on other concertgoers, and the screaming of the Canadian National Anthem at high decibels.

Road tripping with other Hipbaser's to out of town shows is definitly fun. I meet up with thehip11(Jamie) and Shannon for two shows over a weekend on the last tour. We had a blast!

I will be planning a few Hip Trips for this tour. I've meet with Chris Chris, and Trevor on the road in Toronto, Detroit and Cleveland in 2004. I went to shows with john cage and smadabeer from this board in Chicago, Toledo and Cleveland. I was also lucky to have a beer with Stephen Dame in Wasaga Beach.

I will be making plans to meet up with other hardcore fans from this site on the upcoming Hip tour. I hope you can put something together for a road trip Jamie. My wife WheatQueen(Carolyn) and I will be joining up with you. Everyone seems to be looking forward to seeing a few shows.

I think I can speak for most when I say I REALLY need a live Hip fix!

Exactly one year to the day from the last post in this thread....how strange!!

Well the US tour is anounced and it's time to get the ball rolling on some road tripping.

With the recent inclusion of Atlantic City to the list of gigs, I'm going to do Atlantic City, Philadelphia and Washington. These dates fall on April 27th through to April 29th. It's about a 9 hour drive to Atlantic City and then only an hour drive to Philly and a 2.5 hour drive to DC followed by about a 9 hour drive back to the GTA on the Monday the 30th.

What I'm saying is who's interested in doing this road trip????? Get back to me or PM me and let me know. As for hotels, I was thinking book two nights in Philly on the night of the 27th and 28th and head to Philly right after the Atlantic City gig. We'd then head to DC on the 29th, stay over night and head back on Monday the 30th.

Looking for about 3 other hipabsers to road trip with in the GTA. Split all gas, hotel and one hell of a freaking good time with the hip!!!
