Yesterday, while cleaning up around my apartment, I was listening to a show from the "Evening With" tour from Erie, PA. During this show my absolute favorite live (obviously) version of Flamenco is played. I know a handful of people on the board aren't huge fans of Kate's backing vocals on the tour etc, but I think she really adds something to Flamenco. Anyway, for the first time I actually caught what Gord was mumbling around the 4 minute mark. Out of his mouth tumble the words, "that Eric Estrada sure can act." Now, not to be hypercritical, but hearing that certainly soured my opinion of the tune. Somehow the image of Mr. Estrada's 400-toothed-smile doesn't mesh with the original lyrics. Has anyone else ever had one of Gord's quips catch them completely by surprise, and not always for the better?

The "don't tell me how your universe was altered when you found out how Brad Pitt got laid" at Live8 was brilliant. It needed to be said and it completes the message of Poets.

can anyone help me out with this rant. I got a version of 100th meridian about 4 years ago and I don't know what show it's from. It starts out with Gord singing something like..."oh there's a great big band of evil, it's circling the globe, oh theres a great big band of evil..." and then later in the song he does the "had to speak in absolutes and absolutes hurt his head.... he was an ardent unbeliever with near religious zeal, caused a comotion, caused a commotion of self..oh he caused a commotion by himself" rant, and then at the end of the song he again sings: "had to speak in absolutes and absolutes hurt his head and all that." Does anyone know what show this is from. It's one of the best versions of 100th meridian I've heard.
