How many shows have you gone to? Any interesting stories?

I've been to 15 so far I can't wait to go to others with my brother.

My best experience was at Wasaga Beach in July 2004. I was front row, and before the Hip went on and Johnny was hanging out around his drum set talking to the guy with the cowboy hat(anyone know his name?) And I saw him so I waved and motioned him to come down to the front and he did. So we talked for a bit until he had to go back to the boys.
And I asked him if I could get backstage passes for the Sarnia Bayfest show they were doing in Sarnia the next weekend and I got them, and after the show I got his drumsticks. That was the best night ever until the next weekend when I got to go backstage. It was awesome. :thumb:

That's weird, when I click on your list, I get mine.. :? Did you copy the url that is specific to you, or did you just paste this link.. (www.hipbase.com/concert/) Your link should look something like this..

www.hipbase.com/concert/user_list.php=1234 (something like that)

Thats because it is my list..you might have mis-understood my first post..go to the hipbase/concert list link and log in to it and you should get a page for yourself and a url should be there, that url is the one you use in your sig to make your concert list, it shold look something like the one I posted above. BigA has been working on the lists lately so Im not sure if its different now, but give it a try, if you still have troubles just ask Lance or BigA, they should be able to help you better.

I think the guy in the cowboy hat is Dave "Billy Ray" Koster, I think. If you have Heksenketel, he's there as the cleancut (& very cute) drum tech.

He seems like the type that they would nickname Billy Ray, when I saw him walking by when I was backstage I stopped him for just a second to tell him how good of a job he's doing because he works his ass off back there, he deserves a lot of credit. But I forgot to ask him his name or get his picture, If I ever get backstage again I'm going to get my picture with him.

After looking at the Sarnia photos I thought you might be the devil or at least possessed - you have the red eye but the guys do not. In the bottom photo your eyes are ok. Did you have an exorcism performed?

I've only seen the Hip about 5 times, but the best ones for me is when I saw them at a club called The Orbit Room in Grand Rapids Michigan. The club only holds about 2500 people and there's no advanced seating; so what I generally do is go all over the place, from the balconies right on down to the front row, and when I can't take the crush of the front anymore the bouncers carry me over everyone and I start all over again.

In between pushing for the front I grab a beer or two and there's usually no line once the show starts. All in all it's a very small place to see such a large band.

holy shit 22 shows!! Wow thats a lot.

Cool pics too, must of been awesome to meet the guys.
Ive been to 14 shows
The best one was probably Hartford even though it was sooo dangerous there. But it was probably the best because of the trip it took to get there and then partying before and after with the other Hip fans

I've been to 42 shows.....I know it's a lot but nothing compared to a few other hardcore people on this board. I have tons of stories but no time to talk about them. Each show has it's moments that I remember. Here's to making more memories this year. I gotta surpass 50 this year and if I'm lucky, maybe even 60, lol.

The Hip formed as a band around 1985 but my first Hip show wasn't until August 2nd, 1997 at Molson Park for ARA. So I've seen 42 shows in about 8 years. I avearge 5.25 hip shows a year, lol.
