the band seems to have taken a real down turn lately. the last few cd's
have been poor , the sales figures show that. the lost most of me after phontom power . we still went to see them but the heart was missing. songs like fight somethingon grace too were master pieces. the news group was humming for weeks before and after a new release...now it's nearly dead. bob rock is a hope to bring them back from the edge...let's hope bob

Couldn't disagree more..IBE was a stellar album. Ive seen the band 18 times since PP was released and I never saw one show where they didnt kick ass and bring it. And as for sales figures, they don't mean a thing.
Record sales does not equate to talent, period.
See: Ashlee Simpson, Britney Spears, Hillary Duff...etc..

The one thing I love about the Hip is that all the albums are different. None of them are the same. IBE was a breath of fresh air cause I felt the same was after In Voilet Light. Didn't care for that album even though Silver Jet is amazing. But they take chances. Im a huge Black Label Society fan but all their albums are the same and Zakk Wylde spends no time writing. He going into a studio for 3 days and writes 22 songs. I mean really how much can you work on a song when its like that?
I hated Phantom Power at first, but it grew on me bigtime and now I love it. Give IBE a couple of spinns and you'll change your mind.
Im not sure how much the Hip have left cause they are getting older and have already written a ton of albums so they want to start the next chapter and just be husbands and fathers. Id love to see another album soon that rocks but it depends where their heads are at.
We will never see another Road Apples or Fully Completely because its already been done

I loved I.B.E. mainly because I got it when it came out on July 29. I was going to a show in Toronto for Canada Day and I wanted to know the songs so I listened to it for three days straight and got used to every song it's one of the only cd's I listen to all the way through.
the others are Phantom Power, Up To Here, Fully Completely

 haha thanks LK
Well not sure how I feel about that. Could be a good thing since Bob is well know and people will check it out just becasue he produced it. But damn that last Metallica blew
You caught me during an edit..check out that thread I posted, it will bring you up to speed. The feelings were very mixed on the news. Personally I dont think it matters who produces the Hip.

Bob Rock is alright but yeah that last album sucked. I don't think he would help though because the sound is good and everything it just that I think maybe they're running out of ideas for songs... thoughts?
