What CD's/DVD's will hopefuly find their way under your tree
#1

Just wondering what everybody wants to get for their non-denominational holiday of choice?
I hope I get the new Peter Gabriel DVD "Still Growing Up Live," and also the "Live 8" DVDs.

My list for Santa includes the following:

Seinfeld: Seasons 4 & 5
Sin City- Recut & Extended (possibly the coolest thing I've ever seen on film)
Ryan Adams' new solo record (not sure what it's called)
Wilco- Kicking Television
Dave Bidini's new book, The Best Game You Can Name
Cash by Johnny Cash (can't believe I've never read this)
"See No Evil" by Robert Baer (this book was the basis for the incredible new film Syriana. I'm dying to read it)

I've held off on buying Strippers Union on the assumption that it will be under the tree. It had better be under the tree.

Also, I'm hoping for U2's Vertigo DVD and the complete collection of Father Ted. I'm not banking on Father Ted though.

It is hysterical, isn't it? The whole series is available on DVD now for some ridiculously affordable amount but I just haven't gotten around to getting it. On my last birthday, my husband had to pick between Father Ted and Blackadder. He chose Blackadder - which is completely cool - but Father Ted would have been cool too.

Have you seen this site?

Dermot Morgan passed away just days after filming ended on the series. It was very popular though and there was talk of doing a Father Ted movie and re-visiting the characters through special presentations. Ardal O'Hanlon (Father Dougal) was a scream too.

Anyway, there are clips on that site, if you want a small Father Ted fix.

Here are the CDs I hope show up under my Christmas tree... or failing that, what I hope to use the gift certificate that I find under my Christmas tree on...

Metric - Live It Out
Franz Ferdinand - You Could Have It So Much Better
Nada Surf - Let Go
Death Cab For Cutie - Plans (probably Transatlanticism too... little behind on picking up on these guys)
Constantines - Tournament of Hearts (plus some of their earlier ones... little behind on these guys also)
Taproot - Blue Sky Research
The Pursuit of Happiness Greatest Hits (whatever it's called)
K-OS - Joyful Rebellion

Oh, and whoever mentioned the new Dave Bidini book... yes, I'd like one of those too, please! Big Grin
