I'm looking to find a way to buy some Screech as a gift for a friend & was hoping one of you might be able to help???... I would really appreciate it! I have a paypal account and would of course pay the bottle/shipping costs before - but I'm not even sure if you can ship it & if there are border issues?

i lived in newfoundland when i was real little for a couple months. After i graduate i'm gonna go back there to live. I lost my precious accent in Vancouver though.

I'm from Newfoundland myself, and the cruel irony is that most Screech is now made in Jamaica and merely bottled in Newfoundland. The stuff is vile to say the least, and the majority of us Newfies won't even touch it. It's something we basically feed to others as a "tradition". There's really nothing special about modern Screech as it's nothing more than rum containing 40% alcohol with a label saying Newfoundland Screech. That being said, I still get a bottle of the stuff from my father every year at Christmas.
Iceberg Vodka is definitely a far superior Newfie beverage. For a better taste of back home, try to find a case of Black Horse or Blue Star...

My dad got me drinking screech (we have no family ties to Newfoundland), I thought it was good stuff, got me drunk really fast...

Screech is obtained easily enough. As for Blue Star, I'm not so sure...
