das_hips Wrote:No offence to Leafs fans... we've had our fair share of defeat, but realistically, it does look like the Sens, Canucks and Canadiens are on there way to a damn fine season (not to mention the currently dormant Flames).

While the Sens look awesome, they are a Hasek pulled groin away from putting the hopes of this season in the hands of Ray Emery. He's looked good in the minors and his handful of starts thus far, but no one knows how he'd carry the burden of being a #1.

as for linden, i think that this will be his last year, but he's on the fourth line now and i think he's a great fourth liner to have...

Linden? When did I mention Mr. NHLPA?

You'll get Leaf bias on CBC because Cherry openly admits to being a Leaf fan. As for TSN, I guess I'm watching a different TSN from you, because the TSN I watch - the one with Fathead McKenzie and Loudmouth McGuire and I Think I'm The Shit Healy told me all pre-season that the Leafs will be hard pressed to make the playoffs. Call me crazy, but that isn't exactly pro-Leaf bias. If they were operating under a pro-Leaf bias, then Lindros' concussions wouldn't be brought up 15 times a week, nor would we keep being reminded of Allison's old injuries.

Lastly, how do you watch Leaf games on TSN? You aren't exactly in the Leaf region and since they only broadcast Leaf games in the Leaf region, well, I'm left to assume that you are just assuming there is a Leaf bias, versus there actually being one.

"Sickening"? Uh, OK.

you didn't mention linden, somebody else did..sorry for the confusion...as for the leaf games, you can usually bet that they'll be on Hockey Night in canada...and i have NHL centre ice, so i can catch leaf games

I'm going to assume that you understand why the Leafs are always on HNIC.

And I'm also going to assume that you are gloating about having Centre Ice (you bastard!) and you are not telling me that you hate the Leaf bias on TSN but watch TSN LEAF BROADCASTS.

To me that seems like complaining about David Schwimmer being everywhere, and then watching every Friends re-run you can find.

that is funny...i'm not gloating..(well..maybe a little..) and usually i do choose to ignore the leaf games.but if there's nothing else on, hockey is hockey and i can cheer against them...

and yes..i understand why they're on HNIC, i just wish the east would sometimes be a little more understanding of why we hate it so much though...

But here's the thing I've never understood about the western hatred of the Leafs on HNIC - nobody is forcing you to watch! And if you've got Centre Ice, you've got TONS of Saturday night games to choose from!

I mean, I can't stand Ben Affleck. Just can't. So, I simply don't watch his movies and voila, the world is a better place for me.

I mean maybe I'm missing something here, but isn't that the most simple solution for all Leaf haters?

i have centre ice now, so i love it..i won't have to see the leafs to get a hockey fix, which is what i think bothers us out west the most...the next HNIC game between the leafs and nucks, just see how biased Bob Cole is..it's sickening...

So, it's David Schwimmer that is within and without. Thanks for clearing that one up.

sorry to stick my head in here, but i think that we (leafs) only play the canucks once this year, and its on a tuesday on leafs tv not HNIC....as you were...

I was told all the games exclusively on Leafs TV this year were only against mediocre teams. What a load. I'm going to have to go to a local establishment with Leafs TV to watch that one.

I don't think Bob Cole is biased. I just think he's senile. Whereas before he'd just get confused as to who the players on the other teams are, now he's just confused in general.

As for Harry Neale, it's all about perspective. I remember when he first started working for HNIC and I HATED him because he seemed to have such an anti-Leaf bias. Now I'm ambivalent. At least he doesn't yell at me like McGuire does.

Centre Ice is great. Oh how I miss it so. Sad

I feel like a dude who dumped his girlfriend of five years because he was going away to university and it seemed like the sensible thing to do. Then he returns to the hometown and she's dating someone else and looks 10 times better than he remembers, meanwhile, the girls he dated in university were all headcases. Not that I'm, umm, speaking from experience or anything. Move along. Nothing to see here.

Stupid Shaw. :x :x :x

I love it, nothing gets you more pumped watching a world junoir game than hearing Pierre McGuire scream his head off at the Europeans.

Yeah, I gotta say, I know there's a lot of McGuire haters out there, but I think he's great! He's very knowledgeable, and his passion is very entertaining and infectious! He sure will let you know if he likes a player (I think the last couple years at the World Juniors he was the de facto president of the Dion Phaneuf Fan Club), but he's not afraid to rip someone if they are not playing well. He's not everyone's cup of tea, but to me he's a lot of fun to watch! :thumb:
