Ah, just finished the performance, it was great. I saw myself saying "It's all about the Hip!" in the montage at the beginning, which was rad Big Grin

The performance was great, as it was there, didn't notice Rob's guitar being too tuned down. Everyone knows how it was, so I don't need to review or anything like I did last week, haha.

Oh, it's a shame they didn't air The Drop-Off, which was played as the last song, since that was one of my favourites of the performance, but oh well, we got the rest of it Smile

Please tell me someone capped this! I want to save this on my computer!

I think George Strombo is the best musical mind in all of Canadian media...he has been around for such a long time and embraced EVERY genre of music throughout that time which has made him into this incredibly rounded musical figure...Sorry, sorry...I forgot about Opiated...jk buddy!!! But seriously, who can you say holds a candle to him???

Having just watched this show I can say that it had about 1.5% of the energy that I saw at the Horseshoe last week...I doubt anything will be able to top that mind you...The crowd during the taping truly were cardboard cutouts...lame lame lame. I still dug the tunes though!!

I can honestly see George Strombo becoming the next Governor General of Canada...he is heading down an eerily similar path as Michaele Jean. I don't believe he speaks French but that can be easily learned. He has the Greek heritage to qualify him as one of "Canada's people" The only thing truly holding him back will be a Government who doesn't care about throwing a bone for the ever-so crucial "Greek Vote" in the election.

Nothing surprising there. He looks like that during every show. It's funny you mention that though. Last week I loaned my copy of "That Night in Toronto" to a girl at work who's just starting to get into the Hip. She had no idea what they were like live except for the stories I told her from my own experiences, and when she brought it back the first thing she asked me was "does Gord Downie do a lot of coke? Cause that guy is seriously insane."

yup under_pressure, click that link then right click on the video>hit properties and get the link to it, open media player and paste the link in the click file>save as.. and the whole show will save to your hard drive.

Would we be allowed to torrent this? I really can't see why not because other audio of broadcasts and what not have been, (such as Live8). I would really love to have these tracks on CD for the ol' collection.

What a great hour of entertainment, I really enjoyed hearing what gord had to say on all of the subjects. The live music portion of the show was amazing. I loved all the images being shown on the wall behind the band, it just adds so much to the performance. All the guys were looking good, and I must say black is gords best colour. I think the band is heading in the right direction and you can really see how excited they are about all the new songs. I wish I could have been there.

I just finished watching it. Just wow.

The new songs sound AWESOME!

They sound great on the album, but live, there special. I really hope I can catch them on tour at some point on this one, because I like this album a lot more than IBE, so I'll enjoy a concert more...

I watched it at 9 pm on CBC Newsworld and then again at 11 pm on CBC. I couldn't hear Robby's guitar. Sad It really dampened the performance for me.

Why is it always Rob's guitar? He's the friggin lead guitarist. It happened at Live 8 in Barrie, Ontario also and on a Sympatico webcast a while back.

HAHA. I'm watching The Hour in the internet and I CAN HEAR ROBBY'S GUITAR!!!!!! What a difference.
