In terms of songs played, I think on the last tour I went through the set lists posted on the web site - going from memory but I think they played 57 different songs on that tour. Pretty amazing number really.

A Hip set list is like a box of chocolates..you never know which one you're going to get.

Fort York '06: two nights, 40 total songs, 40 different songs. That's the kind of mixing up I like to see. I'm also loving all these rumours about the band playing through its entire repetoire in rehearsals; if think if I hear "Thugs" at Phoenix I or IV I might retire from active show duty.

They already played 38 Years Old this year so anything's possible I'd say

I was talking to a security guard at a Sudbury Wolves game and they announced it to the staff earlier that day - exact date is not exact though but it's what he told me.

Something strange just happend here Confusedhock:

My hubby heard on the local radio this morning that The Hip are coming to Victoria, BC! This was great news as we'd missed out on tix for the 4 Commodore Ballroom Vancouver dates Sad They are having "beat the box office" opportunities for listeners starting tomorrow morning. He called me immediately upon hearing this.

So I checked the official site right away, nothing there. Checked the venue site, ticketbastard, HoB, anywhere I could think of and there was nothing. THEN ... just a few minutes ago, I see it on the official site! November 10 with internet fan club pre-sales starting this Tuesday Oct 24 thru Friday. General public going on sale Saturday. I made sure I had my accounts in order for the two places you can get tix online.

Anyway .... I then checked the venue site again and it shows Bill Clinton is speaking at the arena that night and also on The Hip's site they have them in Montreal on Nov 10 Confusedcratch: And the Victoria, BC information on the site had vanished - in a matter of about 5 minutes. I KNOW I saw it there, really I did!!

Did anyone else hear of The Hip performing at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, British Columbia??

This is like last tour - I hate when they do this.
"here is the announcement MONDAY - we hope are around - because tickets go on sale TUESDAY."
Nothing like giving people only a days notice, with no official announcement from the band that any tour dates would be released.

It's obviously a tight balancing act, Tthip... they give us very little warning on the announcement & ticket sales, and we complain that there wasn't enough time to get our notification...

but when they give us LOTS of advance warning, we complain that there was too much notice, and gives people lots of time to sign-up for the Hips fanclub and be involved in the pre-sale.

For what it's worth, though... I've seen numerous interviews with Gord Downie over the last week where it's been explicitly stated that the new tour was being announced on Monday, and most of the radio stations here in southern Ontario have been pimpin' it out... Not to mention the articles on here...

I'd wait and see, I think the above posts were specifically talking about Ontario dates and B.C dates. I would highly highly doubt that if they went on a cross Canada arena tour they would skip Calgary, especially if they're playing places like Oshawa and Sudbury in Ontario.
