Kinda strange they didn't choose Mig then, isn't it?

Why? he sucked.

Well, he made it to the top 3...so in the bands minds, he didn't suck that bad. And, he was only in the bottom 3 once in the whole show, so the audience didn't think he was that bad. He's also an Aussie, so they may have mixed better. So that's what I meant by it being strange they took the Canadian boy.

All I could think last night was that the whole thing was predetermined from the start...they found JD (a long time ago) and orchestrated this whole thing as a marketing stunt. I have to facts on this...but a gut feeling.

I think they would've got rid of Mig earlier if he ever hit the bottom 3...he's an actor, plain and simple. I think JD gives them the best chance of moving onward and upward so to speak. I also think Pretty Vegas will be the first single they release. AFter all INXS did write the music for it, so it is a true collaboration between them. Good on JD though...I'll be pulling for him :thumb:

actually inxs didn't right the music for pretty vegas...that's a JD original..although it sounds like INXS...as much as i enjoyed the show, i couldn't help feel at the end of it last night thinking..yeah..they're just INXS...pretty anti-climactic...

no, the music was from a demo from INXS that was given to the singer's during one of the clinics they had. JD made a smart move by adding lyrics and melody and using it as his original. They were allow to collaborate on their original and while the others largely wrote with each other, JD didn't and who better to use then the guys in the band you're trying to be in. I think that is what clinched it for him

I'm pretty sure INXS did write the music, I think they did with all the original songs, pretty sure JD can't write music.

i wouldn't be surprised if it was fixed, but who knows

You're right, that is the song that JD sampled a few weeks back, when he had the major suckout during the group songwriting exercise....but it sure does sound a lot like a pre-existing INXS song that I can't quite put my finger on right now....

In any event after watching last night, JD was clearly the best fit for the band. Marty is good, actually he's really good, but can you honestly picture him up there singing that final song with the band (which btw wasn't that great) JD is the only one that can pull off the INXS sound regardless of whether or not you think it's good.

Anyways, good on ya JD, you wanted it and you got it...now don't f*ck it up.

I'm sad to see that the show is over...I hope they don't do it every year with another band who lost a member...which they kinda eluded to at the very end of last night's episode.

Very curious to see who will be the band next year, but really it doesn't matter, if they get the same house band and another good batch of singers it will do well.

you're thinking of another song..they also had a workshop to bring their own songs..and that's jd's..music and lyrics...

It is INXS' music...if you look back a week or so, when they asked JD to sing it again, they gave him the sheet music with it, and at the top it said, Pretty Vegas, Music by Andrew Ferris (sp) and lyrics by JD Fortune.

well..that's strange, cause i remember the episode in which pretty vegas was 'written"..they all had to come up with original songs, and that's where that shitty trees song came from..i know they had some music written one week they all had to write lyrics too..maybe it's cause he ripped off an INXS song so badly farris had to get credit...

That's the episode that it came to the forefront, but it orginated from when the 2 groups had to write a song from 2 different demos they were given...Ty's group came up with that horrible "Stop..Go" song and Jordis and Marty wrote a song while JD broke away from them and got to do Pretty Vegas alone...which is when I think the decided he was their guy....

I hate to correct you Opiated but the Northern Wave is very much correct...and further proof is that "crappy" song Trees that you eluded to is actually a song that the Lovehammers (Marty's full time gig) have been playing for years. You can find it on your friendly neighbourhood music download site.

I for one actually like the song Trees....it's so simple...just 4 chords, but it's got a really catchyness to it...yes it would get tired after a while, but not before it made a ton of money.
