I'm travelling over Christmas break with my girlfriend to a few cities. Time limiting we can only go to one of these two.
I've been to Quebec City, but don't know much about Montreal. Which would you guys suggest?
Cheers
Nick

Three vouch for Montreal. Can I get an elaboration? I can't just tell my girlfriend we are going to Montreal because tth_fan and beanmedic told me to.
What makes you choose Montreal?

I always find the internet to be useful in these situations, maybe looking it up and finding things you can do together and enjoy might be a good start..

It really depends on what you like....and what you guys want to do with your vacation time.
If shopping and night life is what you search for then Montreal is hard to beat...in all of Canada. But if you search for something a little more romantic dare I say, or if you are into skiing then I would say head to Quebec City. Food-wise it really is a toss up, both Montreal and Quebec City have some really fine dining...but don't forget to take down at least one poutine.

Goulet, are you saying that Club Super Contact isn't romantic?

Mount Saint-Anne is the most beautiful ski hill that I have ever been too. I think everybody should go if they have the oppurtunity (and are into skiing). It is about 25 minutes outside of the city, so you can easily go in for dinner and whatnot. And Old Quebec is one of the nicest places in Canada.

The answer to the following question: "should I go to X or Montreal?" is always Montreal... unless X is Poughipsee, New York.

Yeah, yeah, I've been looking around for things to do in each city, but I figured getting a general idea of what I'm in for would be good first.
I've interpreted that Montreal has better night life, and Quebec City is more of a romantic city.

Don't drive to Montreal. Especially if you have a nice, new vehicle.
