Hey, my roomate just said he heard on the radio that the Hip are playing around sacramento area on August 15th...I have not heard anything about this!
Does anyone know what he is talking about...
he said they are playing with Metallica and Maroon 5 and a bunch of other bands....

I checked out websites for all those bands and nothing, the only event I found is the California State Fair in Sacramento, and nothing. Moron 5 is touring the UK in August, but they have an open slot for the 15th and Metallica's tour section hasnt been updated since last year which leaves room for speculation... but I think your friend is full of ____. 8)

I believe the connection may be that all of those bands are opening for the Stones at one point or another, so I could see where they might all be mentioned in the same sentence. If mav is able to comment on any touring plans with the DVD release, that would be great, I need to save some vacation days ! Mark

....is not playing ANYWHERE On Aug 14th. I live in the same town as James Hetfield and we have some common friends. They, mostly James, are not working as a band right now. I highly doubt this one.
Hetfield has been buying up old hotrods, and tricking them out, and driving all over town. It's not uncommon to see him, Santana or Sean Penn driving around in their ridiculously expensive cars.
Nice thought though. It would be 100+ degrees (Farenheit) that time of year and I think I'd rather hit myself in the face with a shovel then suffer through a concert in that heat!
