There has been quite a few quality CDs released lately...I've had a chance to listen to most of them, some that have yet to be released...
New DMB is great, I'm not nearly as rabid a fan as some seem to be, but the new CD is great, very easy to get into.
System of a Down, Mesmerize. These guys are totally original, angry and they mix everything together into a pretty cool package. Their performance on SNL was great as well.
Springsteen's Devils and Dust has been mentioned here before, a nice return to roots for him.
Becks Guero is also a return to his Odelay days, it's great.
Robert Plant has made me a fan again, the Mighty Rearranger is as good as anything he's done post Zeppelin.
NIN With Teeth has also grown on me, very decent.
The new Weezer is, well, Weezer, which has to be catchy pop with great riffs.
And not that new, but new CDs by Matt Mays, Kathleen Edwards are making it a great year for music so far..not to be forgotten, Lullabies to Paralyze just keeps kicking my ass every time I listen to it after their great show here in April.

I would call myself a rabid DMB fan and I think the new CD is simply ok. There seems to be more filler on it that substance...but much like I say about mediocre Indian food, it's still a hell of a lot better than 95% of anything else you can eat.

The new DMB stinks IMO, I didnt care for it all, Im just glad I didnt waste my money on it, my friend did, tee hee.
The new Weezer is good, but its really just the same old formula re-hashed, but I still dig it.
The new Robert Plant is awesome, thats a must for any Zep/Plant fan.
I like the Matt Mays album, and I just heard the Killers whole album for the first time today and it wasn't bad at all, I think I might pick it up.
And its already been talked about alot but the new Blue Rodeo is amazing.
All Im waiting on now is Coldplay, Oasis, OLP, Pearl Jam and the Foo Fighters.
Imagine a world before the "beginning was the word.”

Ya, the new Coldplay single is solid. Nothing earth-shattering, but it's good.

I'm certainly looking forward to the new Foo Fighters release. Anyone hear the first single yet? I think it's called The Best of You... anyway it is seriously kicking my ass right now!

Weezer is Weezer. They are the best at what they do. The new cd isn't their best but it's pretty damn good. I'll take it over Matt Mays anyway. I like Matt Mays but he doesn't do much for me. His music is good but just a little too boring for me. I haven't heard the new Blue Rodeo yet. Blue Rodeo is great though.
I see a lot of reviews and hear people's opinions about Weezer and it seems like people think it's cool to slag Weezer and say they're done. All I heard about their new record was how it didn't compare to the Blue album or Pinkerton. SO WHAT!!!! Nothing the Hip have done since Day For Night has been as good. There's nothing wrong with that. Every band has their #1 record. Weezer may have already had theirs. SO WHAT!! People should stop comparing and just listen to whatever Weezer puts out. The new cd has some great songs. It's not groundbreaking but it's pure Weezer. It's Rivers Cuomo in all his glory. Sure, some of the lyrics are cheesy but that's their style. Rivers is a bright guy. He's gone to Harvard so he's no dummy. He likes to write funny, silly lyrics and I think Weezer are one of the few bands to be able to pull it off. Weezer is a fun band to listen to. I like the fact they don't write angry songs or write songs like Stained to try to prove how deep they are.
