Check out the poll on the right side of the Kingston Whig-Standard's news site:

Yikes. Those results aren't very promising. For the band's sake, that second disc better be either a rarities/b-sides disc, or at the very least a DVD featuring rare performances, otherwise it's looking like this thing might not do very well. Greatest hits albums are a tough sell when your fans already own everything.

I hope this doesn't deter them from releasing it, and maybe these results will have an impact on the format of the package.

I'm not at all surprised...when you think of the demographic of people who would be on the kingston whig site, they aren't necessarily the most likely to buy an album, even if the hip are from kingston... I don't think you can read too much into it.

It doesnt matter, they are contractually obligated to release it. If they weren't I doubt they would of have otherwise. Online polls dont mean shit, who cares. I mean other than a couple b-sides or unreleased songs are there really gonna be any surprises when this cd drops? All were gonna hear is "I cant believe this song didnt make it and that one did" or "hey what about highway girl?" woop-dee-dooo!!(ala adam sandler)
Imagine a world before the "beginning was the word.”

I don't know what any of you are talking about. Those are good results. Any band would be happy to have 38% of the people buy their album. In Canada that works out to around 10 million albums.

good point beanmedic.
I am personally going to buy it because they have given me SO much and have allowed us to download their live shows. If there's new stuff or different versions, then that is great.
no-brainer for me really. But I would be disappointed if there wasn't some new stuff because I NEED everything they can produce.
What are the possibilities of a live track or two being included?
You also need to keep in mind that not everyone who looks at that website is a hip fan! I say it's a pretty good percentage considering that!

The fact that you can vote more than once totally skews it. Vote every day, or clear your cookies, and vote multiple times per day.
