Thanx.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the show. I'd seen the Headstoners back in the early 90's when Hugh was spitt'in & flick'in cig-butts into the front rows and they were good for what I was into at the time. Last night featured a different looking/sounding band.... the keyboardist looked straight out of the 80's, the bassist could be heard well...the drummer (who I guess is on these boards) had a boat-load of passion and the lead guitarist looked like heavy-metal Buddy Holly .... and Hugh Dillon...what a Polished Front Man... who deserves this band and Paul Langlois backing them!....literally Paul came out for 2 songs and had some fun even backing some vocals.... snapped a few pics and some video clips off a Canon camera at that point.
My brother and I bought into the new music and it may not be as hard edged as the Headstones ....it's fresh and cool that Hugh didn't regurgatate the sames music like many artists do when going solo or changing bands.
The blend of keyboards.... the pauses in the music and the small solos on guitar were perfect with a little sprinkle of harmonica from Dillon. they had alot of fun up there and Hugh was very genuine when thanking all for coming out... He looked up after 1 song with Paul Langlois and said "right now my innner dialogue is saying WICKED.." and smiled going over to hug Paul.
Surprises
They split the main set with XTC's "Making Plans for Nigel" and actually closed out the concert with Billy Idol's REBEL YELL !! It was hilarious and very good. Hugh had the lip-snarl going and all.... I grabbed 60 seconds of video on that one....
HIP ALERT
Went to the back after show and Paul was having a drink with friends and his wife....and along comes the trench-coat-toque-wearing-scruffy downie ...to say a few words to Paul and then he & his wife I think headed back stage.
So I said hello to Paul and mentioned that I enjoyed the music and congrats on being involved in the new album... asked him if he like the Billy Idol... and he said ya it was alright eh... He headed to the smoking area and did some pics and just hung out....
Good Job HDRC...
