I remember watching the set on Pay-Per-View (not quite like being there...), but we made a whole day of it actually. We got our smokeand drink on around noon and never looked back. It's been a while since I've watched it (i've still got the VHS somewhere...) but I remember Grace being plagued by sound problems. Courage was great, with Gord pretending to be tied up on the "railroad tracks". Fire in the Hole was a great set closer. I also remember that alot of Gords rants were infused with lyrics from the yet-to-be released Music@Work lp. I remember hearing lines like "had a birds eye view of a birds eye view" and "they docked their boats and cocked their guns, ... and with my belly full I intened to get something done".
A great set.

even with the pay per view sound interference, it still ranks way up there on my list of boots. One of the best performances of tv by the boys for sure.

I was there, and it was pretty cool...probably my least fave show of the 16 or so, but seeing my boys share the stage with all those other great bands was pretty amazing...too bad many of the american fans were such assholes, throwing shit at the canadians at the front...not cool
plus, it was weird seeing them play so early in the day...however, seeing the hip, bizkit, rage, metallica, DMB, and Counting Crows all in 1 day was pretty amazing.....

I was there and it was amazing. Probably not the best live performance of the band , but the ambience and seeing them with 300 000 people or so, truly an experience I will never forget, now if I could only remember it.

YES! I was there! Front row DEAD center!!!
I had never heard or seen the tragically hip, but they seemed really fun. Much more so than the crowd, too crazy. I was amazed at all the Canadian flags - I thought that was totally cool! I wondered how "The Hip" felt about so much support. I remember laughing out loud at the "Feeling Woodstockerific" comment. I have seen a few different videos of TTH @ Woodstock, and have seen myself once. Wearing a white long sleeved shirt and a white "French foreign legion" hat.
I lasted three songs! Fifth person coming down on my head, and I thought "FTS! I am outta here!" Securty refused to help me out, I turned around and a there was a babe right behind me. You could see the fear in her eyes - she wanted out too!! I said "Hang on" grabbed her wrist, and plowed my way out of the crowd, with her trailing behind. She said thanks, and we parted ways.
Anyway, can anyone tell me what those first three songs were??
