As an insult on the TPB's, characters often refer to Ricky as "Ravine". Why is this? Is this something specific to Canada?

Back in high school, a bunch of friends and I went to see Raveen at a local theatre. Of course one can't help but think this show has got to be b.s., so a few of us went up to see if we could get hypnotized. You had to not be cynical of the "NOW LISTEN TO MY VOICE..." bit or else it just wouldn't work and Raveen would tap you on the shoulder and send you back. However, for a couple of buddies it was working and Raveen had them with the "pretend your arm is lighter than air...". One of them snapped out of it just at the end, but the other buddy was full-on out of it (with about six other people who also managed to make the cut).

So then Raveen uses the power of suggestion (!) to tell the hypnotized group that when they hear the sound of his voice, they will all fall into a deep sleep... etc...etc. Then Raveen wakes them all up and sends them back to their respective seats. Cue the intermission.

So our buddy comes back to his seat and we're all hitting him with questions about what was going on, as we could all see that he had been out of it, and we're all curious as hell. He just looked kinda perplexed by it, but said that he didn't really feel like he was hypnotized or anything. He was in the process of trying to describe the whole thing when Raveen start's talking over the PA and BOOM, seriously, in mid-sentence, our buddy's head drops straight down.

F'd up!

Then Raveen gets the group of six or seven to come down to the stage, but tells them that they have to be stealthy, because if he sees them, they'll wake up and have to go back to their seats. So they all start maneuvering their way down the theatre rows kind of on their tippy toes. Our buddy one-uppped them all by doing this "commando crawl" down the aisle until he made it to the stage. It was hillarious!

From that point on, it just got funnier and funnier. Raveen didn't make anyone embarrass themselves or anything, but you couldn't help think... "This is really messed up!!"

So go see Raveen... it is much better than Cats. Yes, it is much better than Cats. Yes, it is...

I have also seen a Reveen show and it was very entertaining. I was one of the cynical ones but that changed after I saw the show. It was sooo funny what he had people doing. Two hypnotized guys on stage came close to kissing each other at the end of the show but Reveen was super quick to stop that. :lol: I'm sure he would have gotten in shit for that one.

Did Season 5 episode 2 air this past Sunday (i.e. yesterday)? I haven't come across a torrent for it yet, it's the only way I can watch this show in the States! (until they come out on DVD of course :thumb: ) Cheers.

Here is my question: How long is the show with commercials? Without - they are approx. 22 minutes. Is it me, or in the past, did the shows seem to be longer?

pretty much all shows are around 22 minutes, and seemingly getting shorter. on one of the simpsons dvds (season 5?) the directors talked about how they had to start making the shows shorter since fox was cramming in more promos. i guess tivo/torrents will reverse this trend, at least we can hope so.
