Green Day Remix
#1

There is a pretty cool version of Boulevard of Broken Dreams on the radio here where someone has mixed it with Wonderwall from Oasis. Now, I can't stand Oasis but this song sounds awesome in the remix. Has anyone else heard this and does anyone know where it originated from? Only the one rock station here is airing this version and no one else and the dj's never say where it came from.

A month or so ago, 102.1 The Edge here in Toronto were pointing out all the similarities between every song on Sum 41's CD Chuck, and other well known songs - most famously Coldplay's "The Scientist" vs. The Sum's "Pieces". During that time, they played the mix you are referring to, and it sounds OK. (By no means am I implying that they created it, rather that it's been circulating for a while.) It's available on your favourite file sharing program.

That was funny stuff... did anyone from Sum respond or did anything else come from that?

Not that I recall... but they stopped playing it rather abruptly. Makes me think that a call from a lawyer or two may have been involved.

Speaking of funny remixes, I remember somebody posting a link a while back where they had two Nickelback songs playing simultaneously, and they were practically indistinguishable from one another, proving that their second biggest single was nothing more than a recycled version of their first one. That was some funny stuff. I didn't think it was possible to hate that band more than I already did, but that link certainly helped, LOL.

Not sure if this is the same thing... but the Edge used to play a remix combining a Nickelback song and a Theory of a Deadman song... which sounded "remarkably" similar! (sarcasm intended) Thus, "Theory of a Nickleback" was born, also known around these parts as Theory of a Nicklecreed, Theory of a Nicklehack, etc., etc.

I have it, it's hysterical. If no one can find a link to the song witin the next day or two, I can throw it up on my webspace.
