$20 says that before this thing is over, a picture of a smiling Bobby appears in the Whig.

I think if that guy ran for mayor, he'd get 101% of the vote.

[tina]

I'll lay bets on Gord Downie, in net with the neck brace!!! (just to tease Kirk of course!!)

[Dilly_sAm]

Aw man that would be so deadly...it makes me almost wish I lived in Ontario.....

[wpghipfan]

Hahahahahaha.... almost.

I can tell you Gord S. and Paul participated in a curling event in downtown Kingston today. It had something to do with the best curler in Canada showing up...but only if some of the band were there.

It seems he is a big Hip fan....curl on hoser.

For those of you not in Ontario, TSN will have some coverage of the event during their "Canada's Game" coverage this Saturday (12 noon to 6pm EST)...

From their website:

Kingston, Ontario: Celebrity 3-on-3 Hockey Game - TSN will broadcast live segments from the 3-on-3 celebrity hockey tournament at The Market Square Feb Fest 'Limestone Classic' featuring Canadian hockey favourites Kirk Muller, Doug Gilmour and Dale Hawerchuk. The big event is expected to draw more than 2,000 hockey fans. TSN's 'Off The Record' host Michael Landsberg will be broadcasting live from the streets surrounding Kingston City Hall, interviewing players and fans. Landsberg will also be hosting special 'Off The Record' segments, putting both players and fans in the hot seat.

Here's a snippit from the Kingston Whig-Standard about the weekend events...I'm seriously considering a roadtrip!

Confirmed for Saturday’s Limestone Classic tournament, from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the ice at Market Square, are: hockey hall of famer Dale Hawerchuk; retired Toronto Maple Leaf legend Wendel Clark; Joe Nieuwendyk of the Maple Leafs; Brenden Morrow and Marty Turco of the Dallas Stars; Mike Keane of the Vancouver Canucks; Matt Bradley of the Pittsburgh Penguins; former Leafs Dave Gagner, Nick Kypreos and Dave Ellett; former New Jersey Devils John MacLean and Joe Cirella; player agent and onetime Boston Bruin Mike Gillis; Hockey Night in Canada personality Ron MacLean, and Gord Downie, Gord Sinclair and Paul Langlois of the Tragically Hip.

Toronto Maple Leafs radio commentator Jim Ralph will preside over the event and Kingston native Don Cherry will make an appearance. TSN plans to cover the event.

Meanwhile, the organization running Feb Fest announced yesterday that Thornley, one of the province’s hottest bands, will be the feature act at a free outdoor concert Saturday night, backed by Kingston’s own Chris Koster.

There are all sorts of rumours floating around Kingston of an impromptu Tragically Hip concert tomorrow night...'cause...well...

Party in The Square: Free outdoor concert featuring Thornley, with special guest Chris Koster.

The boys in the Hip are close friends with Ian Thornley, Chris Koster was part of the Causeway show, three members of the band are playing in the game tomorrow...just makes you wonder.

Or maybe I have too much time on my hand these days. :thumb:
