Assuming it doesn't have a USB or Firewire output, I suggest
Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition. It includes a "recording' program that records any input source straight to your hard drive.
It's not the same as actually
tranferring the files, but the end result is the same. The MS site advertises it at $19.95 but I've seen it on sale for $9.95 at a variety of retail locations. You get some other cool stuff with it too but if you really want the files on your PC, it's worth twenty bucks.
I bought a copy to transfer irreplaceble cassette recodrings and frequently use it to record XM Satellite Radio.
If nobody else has a sure-fire "connect & click" solution, it may be your best bet.

can't you just connect the output jack from the minidisc player to one of the inputs on your sound card (e.g. aux input) and then just use the software that came with your soundcard to do the recording?
I think I did it once a few years ago, went from a stereo to the computer and it recorded in wav format
good luck
