just once, i would love to see the band do some of these club shows in atlantic canada. there are a bunch of venues to play out here. the Playhouse in Fredericton. Imperial Theatre in Saint John and a crapload of places in halifax.
ontario and the west coast get all the breaks every year. we get 2 shows on a regular tour (saint john and halifax) and that is it.
how about showing the east coast some love for a change?

I'm from the East Coast, and I always thought that the Imperial Theatre was a perfect venue for The Hip...but saying that the East Coast gets the shaft I would say is a stretch. Don't get me wrong, I was upset when no east coasts dates were announced... but it makes sense. Clearly New Brunswick doesn't have the population of Calgary or Toronto.
Also, the Hip played this summer in Charlottetown.
Last summer they had two concerts, both on the east coast.
I would love to see the hip play here on their "small venue" tour, but I don't think that we always get the shaft.

the fact that NB doesn't have the population of calgary or toronto is why i think they should play out here.
maybe "the shaft" wasn't the right choice of words... but i still think we don't anywhere near the attention that we deserve.

Same thing happens in the U.S. Most of the premier stuff is in NYC or L.A. We're lucky here in Buffalo, though, Toronto is less than a 2 hour drive.
