Downie interview in today's National Post

Well, she's a "she," and she's a very good writer... although yes, the Asper's do run the Post on the John A. Macdonald theory of management: "Buzzed is better, but Blasted is Best."

That piece comes off as an honest account of time spent between Downie and a reporter who has no particular fondness for his work (the use of 'bleats' to describe his singing on INOIB is revealing, I think) nor any real understanding of it. She is punching the clock. He probably is too. The result, as usual in entertainment 'journalism,' is a waste of time for all concerned; but then, it's probably hard to be truly incisive with the Aspers hovering over your shoulder and censoring your every utterance lest it offend their politics.

Man, not even an article reeking of smugness and contempt could sour Gord's wit. That's a great line we could all use sometime!
