Gord and Ron Sexsmith - Take Me in Your Hand
#1

Hey all. I was just listening to the recording of Gord and Ron tackling Take Me in Your Hand as a duet. Does anyone know where this came from, or the date it was recorded? I know that it's been floating around on Kazaa for awhile, but otherwise I'm clueless. I searched on Hipbase and found nothing.... Any guesses?

That version of "Every Irrelevance" is quite interesting also. It is mostly the song heard on CMG with a couple of changes.

Only the lyrics are the same...the music is 100% different! And it's hard to tell which I like more...some days, the wailing guitar really gets me in the live version, but that foot-shuffling mumbling on CMG is wonderfully introspective at times too.

If anybody would like a copy of the above song or a copy of Gord and the Rheos doing To Cry about, send me a PM Smile

So is this really with Ron Sexsmith, or the Rheos?

I used to have mp3's of those songs with the Rheos, and I don't remember any mention of Ron Sexsmith. I haven't had a copy of those in a while though, so now I'm confused.

THAT is a beautiful song too... love the way Gord says "...and everybody knows who she is... right Dave?" I highly recommend grabbing that if you don't already have it.

I'll send 'em along with the Erie show.

Umm, EDIT: I cannot read. Bah.

I think there is a little variation in lyrics too. He says "no reliance on science.." and "so just say it, don't spray it...." which varies a little from the CMG version. I like the guitar in the Rheo's version too.

I was glad he changed the "say it, don't spray it" to "say it, just convey it"...even though I'd never say I didn't like some small part of his lyrics, I always thought "don't spray it" was kind of a stupid colloquialism to use in a song that good.
