ESPN NHL 2K5
#1

"Hey all anybody out there have ESPN NHL 2K5 for PS2? You can start up online leagues and was wondering if anyone on here has it- and would be in for some hipbase hockey league - the game brand new is $29.99 CAN and $19.99 US- and is better then NHL2005 at least i think so- anyway just thought i would throw this out to the group

i'm a nhl 2005 guy myself, sorry

IMO- EA Sports makes the best sports games around
(although i have heard from some people that they prefer epsn2k5 over nhl 2005 as well)

espn's entry is far better than EA I have them both, well IMO at least, less of the goofy crap EA has been putting into the hockey games over the last few yrs, and it has a super deep scouting mode, unfortunately i havnt played in weeks cause i just dont have time. I would be good with an online league except I cant play online cause of my mod chip and i dont have a network adapter. Too bad too cause I actually bought ESPN 29$ how can you go wrong :p

NFL 2k5 is supposed to be better than Madden as well. the price is much better, I bought it for my friends son's birthday last weekend, and I plan on schooling the little guy this weekend!

price is way better,
but the quality isnt even close(IMO),
i played nfl 2k5 in the store, bought madden 2005, and am so glad i shelled out the near 2X what it would have cost me for 2k5.

Reviews on the Run gave both Games 9.5, so I doubt you can go wrong with either.

Have both ESPN NHL and NFL 2k5, both are great. I also have Madden 2005. As for the hockey, I like ESPN much better, a lot more realistic in my mind. As for football, both games have their ups and downs. Madden is more realistic, but I have more fun with ESPN.

the EA game stiniks!! Its an arcade game, its all hits and hits and hits you can do anything without being nailed, it doesnt feel like real hockey to me. The EA looks good but I hate the controls and the arcade style hockey it plays. Thumbs down. ESPN is WAY better!!!!!!!! :thumb:

You're obviously not playing the same EA NHL 2K5 that I'm playing. It's far from an arcade style game. It's one of the best versions that EA has come out with yet with great realism play in my opinion. I'm playing on medium difficulty and scores of my games are normal type scores of 2-1, 4-2, 5-3 etc. I have not played the ESPN version but I've heard good things about it.
