Opiated vs. Locked
#16

I think I'll break the tie, if no one minds me putting in my two cents. Actually, make that my "two-fifths"......

I dunno...'Opiated' is one of the great underrated Hip tunes, a watershed song...and 'Trunk' is one of the great Hip singles.

But any song that gave me the experience of flailing in a ferocious mosh pit :jump in the sweltering summer heat around 1993, screaming, along with hundereds of other people, LEMME OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! at the top of my lungs has to win the prize.

I have already voted in this post so this vote does not count but I must re-itirate my obsession with Locked. It is one of the Hip's most incredible songs. And it is really made by Gord's pained wail of LET ME OUT!!!! Nothing better than that.

All right ... polling's closed. Locked wins 6 to 5. Congrats to Locked. Better luck next time, Opiated.

True story: heading to Syracuse in 1996 to see a show at the Landmark with my brother and 3 buddies, we made an express point of stopping for gas as soon as we'd crossed into NY State to put exactly ten dollars of gas in the car ... can't recall if it topped off the tank or not. very Hip-geekish thing to do.

Man, on that trip down we sang gift shop (ba-ba-da-ba) and 700 ft. ceiling (it's part hard, hard to remember, it's part hard to say) the whole way. It was right after TATH came out. Geez, that was a long time ago.

leaning toward a full stop,
CT
