Looks like trouble (I just knew it)

Damn. Did irony die again, and I missed it?

fingernailsonhull Wrote:I have to disagree with all of you. You think that the same four Hip songs played six times live is a great concert? You can hear NOIS, 50 MC, and Bones played six times in a week on Canadian radio. How about something none of us hear on the radio, or something that they never play live anymore. I saw them on Canada Day at the Molson Amp. They didn't play a single song from Road Apples. Not one!! No Bones, no Twist My Arm, no Cordelia, no Three Pistols, no On The Verge. This is one of their greatest albums and they didn't play squat. I want to hear stuff from Up To Here and Road Apples and Fully Completely and Day For Night, and hell, even Trouble at the Henhouse that they just don't play anymore. NOIS six times in one concert is not funny nor a great concert. I would be demanding my money back. I love this band for more than just their radio hits. :thumb:

Hey Chris Tanz, Don't you think the hip is sick of playing NOIS ? As the years go by and after 68 shows, I would not be upset if they skipped it. They only play the song because everybody would be pissed off if they didn't. The best part of NOIS is when they break into another song they are writing. Last year that song turned into V-Scar. That song has given birth to "Poets" and "Good Life" among others. I will always love NOIS, but I would rather hear Penquin or Dark Canuck anyday.

You, sir, are obviously NOT a Hip fan.

Oh, and that setlist should have Bobcaygeon in it so when TO is mentioned, all drunk flag-wavers can go into cardiac arrest.

[brigadier]I'm stopping this thread as it is too silly.[/brigadier]

How about a little snickering pissy animated face? I think that would work well.

I think youre confusing NOIS with 100th philhip37. And saying the songs were "given birth" in it may be overstating it just a tad. Don't know how the majority of you think in here but I'm of the opinion that these songs are pretty much fleshed out by the time they make it into a rant. I honestly don't believe Gord just does it all by stream of consciousness alone. Some of the rants sure. Just not the songs within songs bit.

Sorry folks, guess I did miss the sarcasm. I guess my post evoked a lot of angry response. Sorry about this guys. I love the Hip, the have been my favourite band since I was in elementary school. Can't wait for the Toronto and Hamilton shows.
