"September Seventeen" at the TFR

Just got back from the Terry Fox Run. Whoever was manning the DJ booth did a fine job of playing Fiddler's Green before the run. A double dose of Hip mythology on this morning.

I heard The Stereophonics cover of 'Fiddlers Green' the other day. I was shocked to say the least, but I enjoyed it! Big Grin They seemed to have quite a thing for Canadian bands - I heard they had OLP supporting a few years back. Big Grin

If I knew the full story I would tell you, but as I have a rather crap memory atm, I will have to leave it to one of the others more clued up than I.

Somewhere in this house I have the single with it as a b-side.

Somewhere......

Stereophonics were originally known as Tragic Love Company in tribute to their three favourite bands The Tragically Hip, Mother Love Bone and Bad Company... or was that question not asked?

No, not directly - but interesting to know, none the less. Wink I had know idea that Kelly and co liked The Hip so much. I'm not really an expert on them though...

But on a plus point, it helped jog my sleep deprived memory..

How can a small child, barely 5 weeks old, be so bloody noisy???

I have three kids, and you'd think by now I'd be used to that....but I still ask myself the same question with each new kid. Smile

The other member... whose name I couldn't remember at the time is Stuart Cable... and this chance meeting was the nexus for their reconcilliation.
