Album openers
#16

It's really tought not to go with M@W, Poets, Little Bones or Blow at High Dough (surprised no mention of that). There are few songs that can beat that list, but one of those few songs is Grace, Too.

... and I think the Hip agree, since it's often used as the opener for live concerts or as the first classic song after new songs are played (such as during the IBE tour). Hey, they even used it as their opener on Live Between Us.

Blow at High Dough anyone?

I agree with everyone who said Grace. And it really does make an awesome opener/second song live too. Gets everyone going right away...

I can't listen to 'Grace Too' on DFN after the version on 'Live Between Us.' It simply blows the studio version out of the water.

So, I'll go with 'Blow at High Dough,' although 'Poets' is right up there.

I'm torn between Grace and Gift Shop.

I love the surreal feeling that gets laid in place during the intro of Gift Shop.

Aie, so many awesome choices they've made over the years...
Although I love Bones, I'm gonna go with Grace just as the definitive opener, but you cant go wrong with Music, blow, Poets, shit, i liked are you ready. ANd this is even without mentioning courage. Fuckin Courage! Do you remember the first time you heard that song? The mind blowing and the what not? Big Grin

Isn't it interesting that in the Dicography section of thehip.com (http://www.thehip.com/web/discography/index.php), the songs from Fully Completely are listed in the order that they appear on the back of the disc (random?) as opposed to their actual order on the CD.

i've brought this up in another thread..but to me, the order listed on the back of the cd is a MUCH better listen for some reason...try it out..it's a cool way to re-experience the album

Nobody else is gonna agree with the irony of "Small Town Bringdown"?
Well, okay, I guess....

If you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go and admire this set of balls I have...
