My friends and family have been telling me for the past 7 years that I'm completely obssessed with The Tragically Hip. I never believed I was obssessed at all and have always denied it. I always commented that I wasn't obssessed, but rather just a huge huge huge fan of the music and live experience.
Well now I have come to the realization I might be little obssessed. I literally search hip related stuff everyday, am always on the hipbase forum and checking thehip.com
Are there any other crazy people who leave hipbase.com open on their computer all day simply refreshing to always know the latest news? I do notice that there are a few people that are online every hour of the day. I think I might be a little crazy! It's good crazy though!! :-) :-) :-)

Your not crazy...I know I'm here a lot too, for info and that stuff but I think it's because a lot of the time I'm just bored and it passes the time. :mrgreen:

I'm pretty obsessed too man.
1. I surf the net and download Hip stuff.
2. I have tons of bootlegs
3. Tons of Posters including a huge Hip collage on my office wall.
4. I have the "Heksenketel" video pretty much memorized.
5. I could sit down and write down every single song on all their albums... in the correct order.
6. At one point I even rated every song out of Ten, and then gave each album a score to determine the exact order of the albums from my favorite to my least favorite.
7. I can play all of their songs on the guitar. I started learning them in 1992.
....oh there are probably more obsessive things that I do, but I've already made myself look like a huge obsessive Hip Geek. Anyway, at least I can admit I'm obsessed!

when bored in class I sit and write down the lyrics to whatever hip song is running though my head. yikes. putting that in writing makes me feel a little bit creepy. :lol:

I supply my local Hip station with up to date news on the Hip...they then turn around and broadcast it on air. Sometimes I tell people I'm not obsessed, but with the amount of knowledge I have about them, I think it's there's just no denying it.

I'm in the same boat. Never realized it until I thought about my morning routine. Shower, get dressed, go to HIpbase.com, go to thehip.com, check email, check hipbase.com again, go to work.
When I get home, check hipbase.com and thehip.com. Before I go to bed, hipbase.com.
Its more than a habit now.

The lithographs I have are mostly 11 x 14 and 8.5 x 11 black and white photographs on super high glossy paper. Every one is different. and they are all framed. There are promotional shots, live shots of the band on stage and individual shots of almost every band member.

Count me in as well. I've been obsessed since 1989 and I don't think it'll ever stop. The amount of Hip stuff I've collected over the years is almost too ridiculous to mention. Albums, bootlegs, t-shirts, posters, ticket stubs, autographs, magazine articles....you name it and I probably have it. I even have a coffee mug that a friend of mine made for my birthday last year which features a picture of Gord with the words "The Gordfather" written across the bottom. I've seen them live 18 times over the years, including a great stretch in the spring of '99 where I saw them 5 times in one month. So far I've made 3 road trips into the States to see the boys in smaller venues, and it's been worth every penny. So yeah, don't worry. You're not alone here. I think we're all obsessed in one way or another.

It's become a disease for me. THANK GOD my husband is just as big of a fan as me.
I have too much memorabilia to even begin to list, it would take up too much bandwith. I have 2 large photo albums full of personal pictures from concerts - during and after the shows.
It got so bad a couple years back that I began to ask for money for special occasions - XMas, birthdays, anniversaries - so I could buy more Hip concert tickets.
During the PP tour, I missed three family occasions (including a wedding!!!!) to attend a Hip concert out of town.
During the M@W tour, I ran into Gord Sinclair after one of the shows, and he said he recognized me from previous concerts, even named some of the venues. Scary part was - they were all from the PP tour more than a year previous. I'm scaring myself now.
Gord Downie once called me his Highway Girl because of the amount of concerts I've attended far from home, on the road. I'm not sure if I should be flattered...or admitted for treatment!!
The plane tickets I've purchased alone for concerts down south is enough to keep some of these airlines in business.
And yes, I check hipbase.com, thehip.com, and thehipclub.com at least 20 times a day.
