Does this happen to anybody else? Often, actually way too often to just be coincidence... :? I'll get into my car or flip on the radio at home, and the first thing I hear is a Hip song.
This happens A LOT. It's getting to the point where every 2 or 3 times out of 10, I can expect it. I've often been driving, gotten a... "vibe" I guess, to change the station, and as soon as I do... Hip.
I'm also all but guranteed to hear a Hip song on K-Rock as I pass through Kingston on my way home to Toronto. I can "call it" at this point, telling friends "We're going to hear a Hip song on this station in the next twenty minutes..." and sure enough it happens.
My ex used to tell people "Now that Steve's in your car, we're going to hear a song by The Tragically Hip on the radio." Sometimes, with eerie prescience, it would be the very next song out of the break.
Obviously, this has a lot to do with luck, serendipity and Can-con rules, but does anybody else have this odd Hip-Radio relationship?

You're not the only one that has this happen. I seem to have a magic touch when it comes to turning on the radio and hearing The Hip. Last night on the drive home it was Vaccination Scar. After the song they went to commercial so I switched stations. Only to hear... Vaccination Scar.

this is weird...i live in lloydminster and i am from regina and whenever i go home i tune in a regina radio station about 45 mins away...anyway,there was a stretch of 5 or 6 trips in a row where i tuned the radio in to get hipped...kinda cool...going home to see friends and family and the hip were there to lift good spirits even higher

Also happens to me! But the best thing i like, is tking out a cd (little bones is playing) and going tot he radio, and little bones is on the radio! hehehe

Now this was weird.. my radio usually comes on at 5:05a and usually I hear The Hip between 5:05a and 5:30a.. This morning I wokeup at 4:45a and switched the radio on... The opening note of *Vaccination Scar* and a few months ago.. One Saturday night Sunday morning.. at 4:00a had to turn the radio on.. and heard *Small Town Bringdown* & *Highway Girl*... after this I had to get up and search for my original vinyl EP.. :lol:

I've had it happen once or twice, I recall Ahead By a Century and Fireworks being the songs.
It doesn't happen often in Buffalo. Every once in a while 103.3 will play some old hip, but they get most of their airplay when a new CD comes out, then it kind of fades away.
I stick to my album and bootleg collection to keep my sanity!!

Best one for me was when I was on my way back from Toronto (I live in Ottawa). As I'm getting off the 401 and getting on the 416, Greasy Jungle comes on. Thought it was pretty cool.
