Most prized possession you own
#1

Okay, on a new thread and on a lighter note...I know we're all big Hio fans here...and I'm sure many of us have met the band, got pictures, autos, etc...

What's the one thing that you own (relative to the Hip) that is your most prized possession...

I have quite a few, but my fave is probably the very first Hip auto I got, which included Gord writing "Kari's Hip Museum since 1988". Very cool.

Here is a link to see it scanned...

Now...anyone else have something to share?

It's not signed or anything, but I found a copy of the ep on tape from the original run in a used store in Kingston for 3 bucks. It was promptly bought.

Cheers

I have 4, count 'em, four, Hip original posters from the 2 unforgettable nights at the Fillmore in San Fran back during the M@W tour. The wall was littered with famous bands that had played there thoughout the years. Every band that played had one made.

Topping that though would be the time my girlfriend finally met Mr. Downie. All I had to do was to get both of them in the picture, but it was not to be. I got Mr. D.'s scruffy chin and jean jacket, and my girlfriend's happy face. That would be a picture to get autographed in the future.

Looking at Kari's picture reminds me of something. I was in Vegas a couple of weeks ago. They have many memrobilia shops in the malls. An Aerosmith signed guitar was selling for $4500, and it wasn't even used in a concert. Movies such as "The Passion of the Christ", and Reservoir Dogs had posters....just posters...that were signed by one of the actors that sold for $1500 a piece. Wonder what I can get for my signed Hip setlist? Nevermind, it's priceless.

Gord's handwritten setlist from HOB, July 19, '02. It's got guitar tab notes on it and lyric reminders to save him from forgetting the words.

I have a cool framed gig poster from the Fillmore in San Francisco, 1999. Unfortunately I wasn't actually at the show, but I happened across the poster while shopping around the Haight/Ashbury district in San Fran. I found this cool little store that sold hand-painted posters from the Fillmore for about $40 a pop. The poster is hard to describe, but it's basically a big blue goalie mask in the shape of a maple leaf, with a creepy pair of eyes staring out through the holes. I've never seen another one like it. It's great!
