Wasaga On-Sale INFO
#1

Yesterday, we told you that The Tragically Hip have decided to release a new album this summer. The Hip's new album, In Between Evolution, is slated for release on June 29, a couple of days before Canada Day. Although The Tragically Hip haven’t announced any tour dates yet, we do know that they're going to be performing a few festivals, including a headlining show at the Wasaga Beach Bluesfest on Sunday, July 11.

The Tragically Hip are just one of the bands included in the extensive musical lineup featured at the first-ever Wasaga Beach Bluesfest. This three-day concert runs from Friday, July 9 to Sunday, July 11 and features over 15 performers on two different stages. The music festival presents performers of various genres from blues and roots to popular forms of rock and alternative.

Starting on July 9, the Main Stage hosts famed blues artist Taj Mahal as well as T-Model Ford and Spam, among several others. Maple Blues Revue and The Funk Brothers (with Joan Osborne and Sam Moore), hit the Main Stage on July 10. On July 11, Roomful Of Blues, Colin Linden and David Gogo will take the stage, followed by The Tragically Hip, who will wrap up the show at 6 p.m.

The Wasaga Beach Bluesfest also presents a second stage called the Roots Stage, which showcases the likes of Reckless Kelly and The Bellrays.

Festival Passports are $45 and fancy Gold Circle Passes go for $85. Single day passes to the festival start at $15 for July 9, $20 for July 10 and $30 for July 11. Tickets for the festival go on sale this Saturday (May 8 ) at 10 a.m. and are available through Ticketmaster or select record stores. Check out the Wasaga Beach Bluesfest's official website for the complete festival details

Cool, thanks for the info... I guess this means Ottawa is on the 10th, and I'm assuming that 8) means May 8th.

I'll have my credit card ready... hopefully this won't be tough.

I recall the last Bluesfest they played, in 2001, they sold 27,000 tickets (at an admirable cost of $26), and in the end sold too many tickets; people who bought tickets for the show couldn't get in and had to watch from Elgin Street and the Mackenzie King Street bridge...

I just tried to look up the on sale info on ticketmaster and it now says the show doesn't exist in their database. This is driving me crazy. I really hope tickets will be available through ticketmaster.

hey jamie is it me or do the hip seem more disorganized this album regarding touring. there seems to be a lot less organization and communication going on.

Didn't it always say that? I just figured there wouldn't be anymore info until the onsale...

The only Ticketbastard near me shut down last month, so I'm REALLY hoping the website comes through.

I agree man...this is so far the most un-organized thing I've ever seen. You think from years of Touring they'd know how to do it right. Canadian dates on the American Label rounder site before thehip annouce anything on their own site. The Hip's managements are just chilling out and updating us when they feel like it. I mean the album has been done now for 3 months....why does it take 5 months to release an album? Maybe I'm just an anxious fan who wants to hear new material, but that's beside the point.

How come dates are changing like crazy for this wasaga/ottawa thing. All I really want to know is, where to get tickets, what's the date and how much...how much is that to ask!!
