Official 2006 NFL Smack
#1

Here we go folks, only one more round of preseason games, then it's for real!

I felt a need to start up some smacktalk when I saw LK's most recent Green Bay avatar.

How'd you like that ass-whoopin on Monday? I know it doesn't count for squat, but it had to feel a little like last season, eh?

Carson Palmer looked terrific taking his first snaps since major reconstructive knee surgery. The Bengals look to be one of the best teams in the league this year!

Same goes here for the Packers...either Brett is smoking some doobie in his old age thinking they have a shot at the playoffs this year or he is truly desperate for a decent season so he can retire on a high note. At most I'm hoping for an 8-8 season.

I get to "cheer" for the TO sideshow all year. Yay.

As if it isn't tough enough having Darcy Tucker playing for my favourite hockey team......

I get to cheer for T.O. this season (and likely, only this season) too.

But that's okay. I like my athletes eccentric. Think about it. How can you not go crazy if you're getting millions of dollars to play a game. It's an insane concept. You'd have to lose it!

Wait, a minute, LK -- I thought you were a Cheifs fan? Or do you follow both? Or am I thinking of someone else?

I like both teams, but the Packers are my no.1, Favre and the Packers is what really got me into football in the first place. I do like the Chiefs as well, they had some great offence in the 90's and I was a big fan of the way they played, so I followed them closely over the years as well. Last year I was waving my Chiefs banner moreso, the Pack were just awful last year so I was in hiding for the most part..lol.

Its kinda the way I am with baseball, I dont really have a "favorite" team, I just enjoy good baseball and watching the best players play. I also have an affinity for the historic teams and the history of sports so I tend to favor the old school teams with deep histories ie: Red Sox, Packers et al. Growing up as a rabid hockey fan and a hockey player myself, football (except the CFL) and baseball weren't popular sports in my house, it took me time to really start to enjoy and appreciate other sports, although I did play some competitive baseball in my youth.

Ok...so I'm not crazy.

Sunday, September 10

Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs

After opening a drum of Butt-Whip on your #1 we'll chase it with a can of Whoopass on your #2 team a couple weeks later, eh?

Its that time of year when all the writers, experts and prognositcators pick the dolphins to go to the super bowl and then they crap out and miss the playoffs. There has never been a more over-hyped team than Miami evvvery year.

At least no one expects the bills to be any good this year...they may acutally suprise some people and win a decent amount of games. JP Losman looks to have come into his own this preseason.

LETS GO BUFFALO!

I dont know what you're smoking today, but keep dreaming. I reckon the Chiefs will be a force this year. Cincy has a good team but you're gonna get spanked on the 10th I guarantee it!! (and not by Jenna)

I'm a Bills fan so I am just going to keep my mouth shut, I don't think things look to good for the Bills this Year, Unless Losman can start to produce.
