Hey Guys, I emailed Alan Cross last night at edge 102. I asked him about the new single and when it would be officially released.
He Replied: "The new Hip single will be out next week (the 13th). It's called "Vaccination Scar" and runs a quick 2:57. I've heard it--and it's not bad." It's a little depressing that we have to wait a whole week to finally hear it-- well at least till saturday!!

It's too bad we have to wait until then...but I believe it was mentioned in another post that it was being released on the 13th. This makes even more sense now that Hockey Night in Canada is debuting it on the 10th....and from what I hear Tuesday's are traditionally the day for new music.

Whatever the case....I'm going to be watching the pre-game show this Saturday! Hopefully it'll be on the 100th Meridian shortly after so I can play it over and over during the weekend.

I think it's a little depressing that Alan Cross, known to be a Hip fan, says it's "not bad". Hopefully that was the understatement of the year!!

I hope this isn't another album full of short songs...I miss the long story-songs and guitar rockers.

I'm ususally like that when I hear any new stuff grooveless, even Hip stuff. Takes a few listens to really get excited about it. It just may be delayed for Alan.

On google i found an article saying that it will be digitally sent to radio stations april12th--- so it has been delayed till then

So what's the deal with this Alan Cross? How did he happen to hear it when it's not even being sesnt to radio stations until April 12th?

Am I missing something here? It sounds like he's heard it or at least got the stats on it since he put out a specific 2:57 for the length.

You'd be surprised what Radio people know. They were probably sent a press release so they knew how long the song was for timing reasons. My ex-husband was a music/program director and they had to time thier music to the top of the hour for station ID and/or news.

Ya I don't doubt that they know a lot. I'm just confused as to why they'd send a copy of it then send another one on April 12th?

Alan Cross knows everything/everyone. The album's done, so maybe a promo copy is floating around somewhere?

All I know is that I can't wait 'till Saturday night

understatement, indeed...im sure, even if by some chance he DIDNT think it was that great, he would be in no position to so say...he would have to be all for it, or impartial, in accordance to higher powers...so i figure, anyways

I really dont think "vaccination scar" has been delayed. New music is usually always put out on Tuesday, not on a thursday. Maybe the 8th was a misunderstanding.

Cant wait to hear it either way. :jump
