I dunno if any HIP fans are on board with this band yet
They have a big sale on at Sam The Record Man...$11.99 for their new cd and their previous releases.
I picked up A Blessing and a Curse and The Dirty South and these ones I belive all HIP fans would love
It's straight up RnR. 3 guitar players
I also got their LIVE DVD and was BLOWN AWAY
just thought i'd mention it....mainly because I'd be surprised if HIP fans didn't like Drive By Truckers

Yes, on board with DBT and Loving all there stuff, I just heard Pizza Deliverence and Loved it as well, and BAAC is wicked cool as well, DVD kicks arse, love the Dirty South, Southern Rock Opera is fantastic too, I'm hoping they make they're way up north, I'd fly down to see them, anyone know when they were last in Canada? I just ordered a promo cd with 2 unreleased songs and one is Like a rolling stone, excited to hear how they did with that classic....
I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!

cool beans. nice to see some dbt fans here...though it doesn't suprise me, cause, well, hip fans are cool
i haven't bought their earlier cds but i just have the last 2 releases, and yes the new one rawks! i can't say enough about that dvd too.
i went to www.archive.org and hit the live music archive there and they had a bunch of live shows for download there. so i suppose what happened is i heard people raving about them, then downloaded a live show from archive.org, loved it, and then went and bought the latest releases and will end up seeing them for sure soon.
anyways i forget what the date of the live show was but i kept playing the song "never gonna change" over and over and over, and well, you get the point....
my buddy said he saw them a couple of years ago at the horseshoe and that it was too loud...lmao...though he's kinda a folkie anyways...
i hope the sale at sam's still goes on for awhile cause i plan to get a couple more from their back catalogue
FINALLY for people who haven't got there yet...go to www.archive.org and go to the live music archive and take a listen for yourself. i don't always pimp my new fave bands to strangers but this band has impressed the hell out of me

I liked Dirty South but haven't picked up the new album yet. Sadly, no Sam the Record Man near me.

I've only heard their double album, but some of the songs on it really dragged on for me. I've always prefered Southern Man to Sweet Home Alabama anyway.
