And the Eagles would have been any better? I think the real superbowl happened today between NE and the Colts.

Being from right outside Philly, and a devout Eagles fan...I feel ashamed. That wasn't a game....it was...a hammering. Just plain ugly. I plan on paying more attention to the commercials than the actual game...they at least, should be interesting.

Say what you will about Carolina, but it's not as if they've backed into the big game, having walked into St. Louis and Philly and beaten the NFC's top two seeds on their own turf.

I actually think this Superbowl may surprise some people...With the two weeks off for Stephen Davis to get healthy, and their defense which is playing all-world right now, the Panthers could give Tom Brady and company all they can handle...

That said, I still think the Pats will win (mostly due to Belichik), but if the game-time spread is 7 or less, I'd take the Panthers...

As for the Eagles and Packers, the former proved once and for all that they're a "one-trick pony" (aka. Donovan McNabb) while the latter were lucky just to be in the playoffs (recall Arizona's last second win to oust Minnesota), and rode the emotion of Brett Favre's dad's passing as far as they could. In my mind, there's little doubt that Carolina was the best the NFC had to offer up this season...

For what it's worth (which, admittedly, ain't much) I agree with High that the best two teams in 4-down football this year met yesterday in Foxboro...

Janet Jackson, P. Diddy, Kid Rock and Nelly...in a show produced by the good folks at MTV...no, I wish I was kidding...

The pre-game show features Aerosmith...

Now there's absolutely no reason to watch if you don't think the game will be competitive (and you don't have a dish to pick up the US commercials)...

Yikes, when are they gonna retire Aerosmith from doing the Super Bowl? If memory serves this is like the 3rd or 4th year in a row they have played at the Super Bowl..its like some moron at the networks decides they have to have rock n roll for the Joe Six Pack and off the top of their head picks Aerosmith. Sigh, I guess I'm getting tired of faux commercial rock on television. Late night is one of the last bastions for up and coming, different bands to break through.

The Eagles are a boring team to watch. New England is a "small ball" offense too, but at least they have big play potential...The Eagles have one of the worst receiving units in the NFL.

And the worst Super Bowl was the Giants/Ravens three years ago.

Well when you have two quarterbacks who are incapable of completeing passes longer than 5 yards and a very good Raven defense, of course its going to be like watching Cleveland and Oakland playing

So I just read there's going to be an official investigation into the baring of Janet Jackson's breast during the Superbowl halftime show... Confusedhock:

I wonder if they are going to do a harsh interrogation of the pasties that Janet Jackson was wearing?? Why were you there? what were you doing there? Tongue I think MTV decided to get a little "risque" but didnt let the NFL or CBS know what was going to happen, why else would Janet be wearing pasties? unless of course that's what she normally wears for bras Tongue :thumb:

 Her lyrics are not what I would call "family-oriented"..... so, it seems a little ridiculous that they are getting all hyped up over a breast.

I know, it just cracks me up.
Janet's been out of the loop for a while, maybe she thought the extra publicity would benefit her sales...
"No such thing as bad publicity" right?? Confusedcratch:

Exactly! Justin rips that piece of her shirt right off! I can't see how it wasn't staged. But than again who knows? Or cares for that matter.
