What's your favourite book, and who is your favourite writer?

I like to read thrillers and horror. My favourite writers are Stephen King, Clive Cussler, Dean Koontz, Nicci French, Stehphen Dobyns, Matthew Reilly and John Saul.

I'd have to say Pet Sematary by Stephen King is one of the best books I ever read. Man it's tense.....

I'm no fan of Stephen King I don't like horror at all. But I do like thrillers! So I read Clive Cussler, Dick Francis, Alistar McClean, Desmond Bagley, Frederick Forsyth, Robin Cook, some Dutch writers and a whole lot more.

Stephen King is probably my favorite writer also :wink:
I agree with Beat that Pet Sematary was awesome and tense!! I had nightmares for weeks while I was reading that book.
Another good book by King is 'Desperation', not alot of people have heard of it..but it is also really cool/scary/tense.

I don't read enough to have a favourite author . I pretty much read non-fiction . The last fiction book that I really got into was Arthur C. Clarke's Dolphin Island . I wanted to be a marine biologist after reading it , then again I was twelve yrs old . ( I think my reading attention span peaked at twelve and has waned ever since.) :oops:

Not a big reader, but when I do its usually horror. King is my favorite and The Dark Half is my favorite book of his. Also another book that I read many years ago is The Great And Secret Show by Clive Barker (creator of the Hellraiser movies) it was so friggin scary, I would have to read it during the day!

not much of a reader so no favorite author. I do enjoy reading autobiographys usually about bands or musicians.

right no i am reading dream brother about jeff buckley and tim buckley

also heavier than heaven about kurt cobain. i would recommend marylin manson biography also the dirt about motley crue, and walk this way about aerosmith..

now i'm not a big fan of reading in general,
but for my villians in literature/film class i read steven king's misery,
now that was one kick-ass book!!!

I enjoy reading, although I would read more if I had more time!
I don't tend to follow an author, or topic.
I must say though that one of the best books I have read is called the gift of fear..by Gavin DeBecker.
I also tend to like Gary Zukav, and have read about 3 of his books.

Are you referring to the Seat of the Soul books there? We have a couple of those too here.

I just finished my first Nicci French book and it was great, I cant wait for the next one.
Besides that I dont really have a favorite author at all. I've been trying to read some Donna Tartt but I havent gotten very far yet and of course the Harry Potter books rule :wink:

I've read Stephen King (in 2 days)... Pet sematary and I've to say I liked the book very much. It wasn't too scary. Just a little. But..it still isn't my favourite.

my favourite author is hugh maclennan. i love his writing style, it really grabs me. everyone needs to read "the watch that ends the night" and not just because of the Courage thing.
