Post the lyrics of one of your favorite songs
#1

Warning,

Bat your eyes girl,
be otherworldly,
count your blessings,
seduce a stranger.
What's so wrong with being happy?
Kudos to those who see through sickness.

(chorus)
When she woke in the morning she knew her life had passed her by.
And she called out a warning,
"Don't ever let life pass you by."

I suggest we learn to love each other before it's made illegal.
When will we learn?
When will we change?
Just in time to see in all fall down.
Those left standing will make millions writing books on the way it should have been.

Chorus

Floating in this cosmic jacuzzi
we are like frogs oblivious to the water starting to boil.
No one flinches,
we all float face down.

Chorus

A nice message I think!

Delivery Delayed

How early is "Beginning"? From when is there a soul?
Do we discover living, or, somehow, are we told?
In sudden pain, in empty cold, in blinding light of day
We're given breath, and it takes our breath away.

How cruel to be unformed fancy, the way in which we come -
Over-whelmed by feeling and sudden loss of love
And what price dark confining pain, (the hardest to forgive)
When all at once, we're called upon to live.

By a giant hand we're taken from the shelter of the womb
That dreaded first horizon, the endless empty room
Where communion is lost forever, when a heart first beats alone
Still, it remembers, no matter how its grown.

We grow, but grow apart -
We live, but more alone -
The more to see, the more to see,
To cry aloud that we are free
To hide our ancient fear of being alone.

And how we live in darkness, embracing spiteful cold
Refusing any answers, for no man can be told
That delivery is delayed until at last we're made aware
And first reach for love, to find 'twas always there.

the good life

when i look in the mirror
i can't believe what i see
tell me, who that funky dude starin' back at me?
broken, beaten-down can't even get around
without an old-man cane i fall and hit the ground
shivering in the cold, bitter and alone

excuse the bitchin' i shouldn't complain
i should have no feeling, 'cuz feeling is pain
as everything i need is denied me
and everthing i want is taken away from me
but who do i have to blame
nobody but me

( chourus)
i don't want to be an old man anymore
it's been a year or two since i was out on the floor
shakin' booty, makin' sweet love all the night
it's time to get back to the good life
it's time i got back, it's time i got back
'n i don't even know how i got off track
i wanna go back, yeah!

screw this crap i've had it ! i ain'y no mr. cool
i'm a pig, i'm a dog, so 'scuse , me if i drool
i ain't gonna hurt nobody, ain't gonna cause a scene
i just need to admit i want sugar in my tea
hear me ? i want sugar in my tea!

Wish You Were Here

So so you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell
Blue skys from pain.
Can you tell a green field
From a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

And did they get you to trade
Your heros for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?

How I wish how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl,
Year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
What have we found?
The same old fears.
Wish you were here.

Don't know what it is about this song, its sad, but the anticipation makes you feel better. I listen to it whenever I feel lonely.

COME MONDAY

Headin' up to San Francisco
For the Labor Day week-end show
I've got my hush-puppies on
I guess I never was meant for glitter rock and roll
And honey I didn't know
That I'd be missin' you so

Chorus:
Come Monday, it'll be all right
Come Monday, I'll be holdin' you tight
I spent four lonely days in a brown L. A. haze
And I just want you back by my side

Yes, it's been quite a summer
Rent-a-cars and west-bound trains
And now you're off on vacation
Somethin' you tried to explain
And darlin', it's I love you so
That's the reason I just let you go

Chorus:
Come Monday, it'll be all right
Come Monday, I'll be holdin' you tight
I spent four lonely days in a brown L. A. haze
And I just want you back by my side

I can't help it honey
You're that much a part of me now
Remember that night in Montana
When we said there'd be no room for doubt

I hope you're enjoyin' the scen'ry
I know that it's pretty up there
We can go hikin' on Tuesday
With you I'd walk anywhere
California has worn me quite thin
I just can't wait to see you again

Chorus:
Come Monday, it'll be all right
Come Monday, I'll be holdin' you tight
I spent four lonely days in a brown L. A. haze
And I just want you back by my side

This is a song by Lowest of The Low called 7th Birthday . It's certainly one of the most powerfully disturbing songs I've heard ... It's sad how many girls , women live through these tragedies .

Your eyes are like your mothers, but your body's like your brothers
And I can touch you there, don't worry daddy's here
And our blood is the same, and this is just a game
That only we can play, when everyone's gone away

Happy birthday, happy birthday
Happy birthday fun
But don't tell anyone

There's a secret place, and the terror on your face
Will keep you quiet and still, obey your parent's will
'Cause it's no good to lie, about the shadows in your eyes
That noone will believe, a mother couldn't conceive
Of such a...

Happy, birthday, happy birthday
Happy birthday now
But you're sad somehow

So beautiful, you are so beautiful...

Oh, you never knew, at the tender age of two
The circles you travelled in, wolves under the skin
A pink Holly Hobby tomb, a small sadistic room
You hide under the covers, you'll never have another

Happy birthday, happy birthday
Happy birthday well,
There's a story to tell, but it's quiet as hell

Happy birthday, happy birthday
Happy birthday daughter
Blood is thicker than water, so you're dressed for the slaughter
So beautiful, you are so beautiful...

mothers day

i wanna know, i wanna know
do you have the balls to ask,
what do you see when you look at a girl?
is she a game you wanna win?
if no-one was looking,
what would you do to get in?
do you have friends who would be proud
if you went in for the kill?
do you have friends who would do it,
even against her will?

what if they do that to your sister?
what if they do that to your mother?
why are we so slow ?

i bet you think you are such a hottie,
but a body afraid is not a sexual body,
everybody's being laughed at and.
everybody's been left out but ,
that's no excuse for a guy to turn it around
no boy has the right to hold a girl down,

on your star wars sheets,
when you set the scene,
was she seducing you,
or did she want to scream?
it' you versus you versus you,

i can't forget that tomorrow's mothers day,
i'm talking to you, you know who you are, going to far,
you fell good for ten seconds , she'll be screwed up for life,
blue balls and all that bullshit.

"the good life", "wish you were here" and "come monday" are all great songs and have all been up in my favorites at one time or another. Great stuff.

Here's another great Jimmy Buffet song:

LITTLE MISS MAGIC

She's constantly amazed by the blades of
the fan on the ceiling
And the funny little faces she makes
can't help but be appealing
She loves to ride through the town with the top down
Feel the warm breeze on her gentle skin
She is my next of kin

Chorus
I see a little more of me everyday
I catch a little more moustache turning grey
Your mother is the only other woman for me
Little Miss Magic what you gonna be?

Sometimes I catch her dreaming and wonder
where that little mind meanders
Is she down along the shore or
strolling cross the broad Savannah's
I know in time she'll learn to make up her own mind
In time she's gonna learn to fly
Oh that I won't deny

Chorus
