Are you sure? Your quote comes from the 1993 Kumbaya Festival - broadcast on MuchMusic - where they performed NOIS with Nautical Disaster in the middle jam.

This is a late response, but I'm fairly certain Nautical Disaster was introduced with these words at least once, though it wouldn't surprise me if he also used them for NOIS.

anyone else notice Gord also intentionally refers to one song as another.. I could quote several examples but one that sticks in my craw is on the 11/10/94 Boston boot..
After an early live performance of "Nautical Disaster" and Gord tells the crowd (matter of factly) "that song was called Springtime in Vienna.."
