With all the album tours that are going on these days, I think it would be awesome if the Hip decided to pick a couple of albums and play the whole thing. They could do what OLP did and play and album, take a break then play another 12 songs or so. I would love to hear every song off Fully, Phantom, Road Apples, Up to Here. It would satisfy all the hard core fans for sure! Just sayin'!

I'm of the complete opposite opinion. Unless it's a concept album (Dark Side of the Moon) seeing a full thing performed, back-to-front, in concert would be a pretty boring experience.

Earlier tonight to another friend I used this analogy with regard to online dating. Full album tours are the rock and roll equivalentof wearing track pants in public.

I beg to differ, I think it would be awsome if they did those small shows like last tour and did say 4 nights in a row in each city and each night did 2 albums complete plus a few thow ins.
Say like this

tonight
Trouble at the hen house followed by Fully Completly then 6 other songs.
tomorrow
Road Apples followed by World Container and 6 other songs.
and so on.
You could pick your shows or go see em all.
The grand daddy of shows would be
Fully Completly followed by Day for Night. That show I would pay tons for.

I hear ya, I think that tour would be fantastic and it would please everyone. Just make it in smaller venues...similar to WATS tour and I think it would be unreal. Let's just hope they read this.

I think that the boys should just put together a few album heavy setlists... work Vapour Trails, Chagrin Falls, Escape, Emperor Penguin and/or Something On into a setlist that probably already has Poets, Fireworks and Bobcaygeon in it, and bam! A Phantom Power show.

I think the Hip should take a page from Pearl Jam and learn how to put a set list together that doesn't include every single radio hit! :thumb:

To be fair, the Hip do a decent job with their set lists; I really liked when the played the club gigs when World Container was released and the WATS tour was great. I just wish they would do that all the time and throw in even more album cuts. I saw PJ in Montreal last week (and will see them again this week), and they threw in a ton of random album cuts; even a song from Vedder's solo Into the Wild soundtrack, and a tune from their rarities album Lost Dogs. They don't pander to the audience at all, and I think their audience respects them even more for it. You never know what you're going to get with them and it's awesome.
