I'm just glad a team with brains didn't pick him up.

Not that there are too many Sabres fans on here, but what the hell...it's NHL related:

“Given the outpouring of fan concern the last few weeks, we decided to make this announcement now instead of September as originally planned. We are still committed and enthusiastic about our new uniform and believe that fans will embrace it once they have a chance to actually see it."
No. No, they won't. They'll embrace the 3rd jerseys, and that's it.

Did anybody hear about St. Albert's bullshit move. They are selling the naming rights to Mark Messier and Troy Murray arenas. Classy. :thumb:

I live in St.Albert.
and I am appalled.
I've played countless games at Campbell arenas (The Twin rink structure that is home to Mess and Murr arenas)
It's bullshit like this that made the St.Albert Saints leave town.
I'm quite upset by this. yes, I know it's only hockey, but shit, it's heritage at the same time. not every town in the world has the second highest scorer in NHL history as a citizen.

I was told at work today that Petr Sykora was on the verge of signing with the Oilers, but haven't seen anything on the net about it tonight. Anyone else here this rumor?

The way the Rangers are shaping up this year, I've got my money on them winning the cup next season. They were a big dissapointment in the playoffs this past year but I think they've got the right mix to make a run for it. They acquired two canes from last year, they have a great goalie and Shanahan should give Jagr some help in the goal scoring department.

I like the moves they've made so far, but i still think they need another good defensemen, especially one that can add offense (no Sandis Ozolinsh is not the answer). I'm not happy either about letting Martin Rucinsky go either.

Yep, looks like the Petr Sykora deal i heard of a few weeks ago was true, signed a 1 year deal with the Oilers. Very good pick-up IMO.
