Bobcaygeon
#61

Just a thought, I've been hearing way more about this show then I would an average Hip show in the media and from friends and such. Anybody think because "they're finally playing in Bobcaygeon" we'll see any guest spots?

Everyone's been debating whether or not Bobcaygeon will be played (which it almost definitely will), but with it being on "Pigeon Lake" what about Pigeon Camera or Lake Fever???

I'm never sure with outdoor shows, when it says "no blankets" do you think it's cool to bring towels and shit to lay on early in the day, or in case it rains. Also with no outside food/drink, would you not bring any water?

Would assume that answers it?

People from the area have been wanting this ever since the song came out. There had been attempts in the past when some guy used to have the "Bob-Stock" music fests on a farm in Bobcaygeon. However getting the Hip to play there never materialized.

I also think the media is making it a big event, assuming that it is special for the Hip since they sang the song. I'm sure it is... but the media is hyping it that much more because of the song title.

Also, as someone else pointed out earlier in the thread... the VIP list is supposed to be quite celebrity heavy. I've heard the same thing.

Looking at our respective time as members and our post count, it would seem that my posts are more about quantity, while yours are all quality. Thank you good sir, this does indeed clear it up.

Haha, I am more of a lurker.

On side note, developing story may actually see me at this concert too. Hoping so! Cousin has an extra ticket! Two trips to the Peterborough area in 5 days, geeze gas money.

*blows dust off of 'post reply' button* its been a while!

I will be at the show this weekend with some friends and family. My memory is muddy regarding common song rotations over the last few years but loosely basing it on the peterborough show I dont think this setlist is toooooo far out of left field. considering it is a festival show... Albeit historical one for band and fans alike but with 25,000 people or so...bring on the hit-parade.

Grace, too
Lake Fever
Yer not the Ocean
New Orleans is Sinking
Pigeon Camera
Fully Completely
Springtime In Vienna
(new song)
100th Meridian
38 Years Old
Ahead By A Century
(new song)
The Drop Off
Morning Moon
Wheat Kings
Love is a First
Courage
Bobcaygeon
Little Bones

Nautical
Scared
Blow at high dough

personal wishlist:
CORDELIA- that acoustic version that Mav posted was such a c*** tease! too good of a song not to be played!
I was lucky enough to catch Sherpa and No threat at the 2nd Fort York show...actually...wow ya 5 years ago today I think. Anyway, I'd love to hear those two again.

All in all, I hope everyone attending has a safe and memorable weekend! :jump

If the Hip played these three songs every night, I'd be perfectly ok with that. Throw in Cordelia and I'd very likely wet myself.

Seen many shows, Fort York were among some of the finest. 38 Years Old and No Threat were actually worthy of the term "epic"! They killed No Threat, exactly how I imagined it.
Enjoy tomorrow.

Its hard to tell exactly but from the pics it looks like the VIP area may be to the side of the stage.

"we've only got three hundred feet to go ..."
