Do you think The Hip will keep the keyboard player (Jim Bryson I think it was?) for the summer dates? Or revert to just the 5 of them?
I personally hope they keep him, it added a great extra dimension to some of the songs.

hmmm... some newer songs might really suffer or simply not be played with no utility/key player. ie....Depression Suite, In View, Morning Moon, Honey Please, World Container. Everyone has different tastes when it comes to what the band plays but...I like these tunes personally.... Gonna be interesting...

I'd be surprised if more than love is a first and morning moon remain from the 'we are the same' era survive on in setlists, similar to family band, lonely end of the rink and yer not the ocean being the only real survivors from world container.

The only one I will really miss will be Depression Suite and In view. I suppose they could play them minus the keys but those cheesy (but i like em) string parts on DS and the melody synth to IV will be noticable.... Minor griping....can't wait for this summer! Bring on the HIP!!

I liked In View better on the WC tour without the keys.
Love the keys on some other songs though, like Gift Shop and Tiger The Lion.

I hope The Drop-Off keeps being rotated into setlists a healthy amount.
I always enjoy The Kids Don't Get It when I listen to shows from the World Container tour.
Big fan of World Container leading into Springtime In Vienna as well.

I remember them playing WC without keyboards on the WC tour. Ditto on preferring In View without the keyboards. Too be honest, I wouldn't mind only hearing Love is a First being kept in the setlist. Contrary to what a lot of people thought during the last tour, I found almost all of the songs live were terribly lacking and in the case of the Depression Suite I was just getting bored.
