Damon is having an awesome year in pinstripes so far...he's really helping the Yankees keep it together...Jeter's being Jeter...A+ Jeter, Abreu is lightin it up...Melky is almost like this year's version of Cano...Cano is still every bit as good as he was last year as a rookie...Giambi is consistantly crushing balls into the stands...Posada's having a good year, despite some sketchy outings Johnson's got 14 wins, as do Mussina and Wang...Jaret Wright hasn't been spectacular, but he's got a winning record...Lidle's shown some potential...he was great against the Sox yesterday...Dotel's back from injury, Pavano should be back soon...Craig Wilson was a solid pick up at the trade dead-line...Andy Phillips has been impressive...
Sheffield is going to be back soon...and hopefully Matsui won't be far behind him...
it's all coming together for them this year, and the competition in the AL isn't quite what it's been the past few seasons...really the only teams that look capable of going all the way are the Yankees and Tigers...with the White Sox having an outside chance...i doubt that the A's, or Twins, or Indians, or Angels or Jays could...
NL doesn't look to threatening either...

you want to talk about bandwagoners? i've been keeping these fucking baseball threads alive since arrived on this board, and where the hell are all the folks that were chirping (pardon the pun) about the jays earlier in the year? i seem to be the only one who even cares at this point, and believe me i care, very much so.
i have not loved the Suns forever (i do love the way they play though, it is exciting b-ball, and ya gotta love Nash, even though i couldn't bring myself to cheer for the Mavs when he was there, lol)), i am bandwagoning them, haha, i still prefer the Raptors actually...the Heat are pretty fun to watch too. i dunno, i've just been getting back into basketball in the past couple of years...i used to watch it a lot more often as a kid when Jordan was still playing...watching Wade this past playoffs gave me a very similar feeling to that of when i used to watch MJ tear it up...BACK TO BASEBALL.
how bout that, who was it, Sanchez? of the Marlins? pitched a no-hitter today! and he's a rookie too if i'm not mistaken? craaaaaaaaaaazy!

id say the mvp are pretty much set Morneau & Howard, also like to add im currently reading stewart o'nan's & stephen king's 'faithful' and its fanfuckintastic

On June 7, the Minnesota Twins were eight games below .500 with a record of 25-33. Since then, the Tigers have compiled a record of an incredible 68-30. On August twelve games behind the division-leading Detroit Tigers. Now, they have clinched the AL wildcard and sit just one game back of Detroit in the AL Central.
I was, and still am, impressed with the Tigers season as they have made one of the best turnarounds from one season to the next I can remember. But I must say that Minnesota's season is even more impressive, showing tremendous heart, will, and resiliency to battle back into the playoff picture in a tough American Leage and solid divison. I gotta give it up for the Twinkies.
I've always admired the Twins organization for being a fine example of how to remain competitive smaller fish in a big pond, but their run this summer and fall has been nothing short of phenomenal.
I know for whom I'll be rooting come the playoffs!!

Yankees clinched the division while i was in town! i got to crack open a bottle of Alizee while i watched them pop their Champagne!
so far so good, and even though i'm hearing that Randy Johnson might not be ready for the playoffs, i'm not concerned, either way, they're putting just as good a team on the field as anybody else this October...
may the best team win, here's hoping for a month of excellent baseball...
ps: i want another Subway Series...
