Belfour needed a break, with two shutouts you can give him credit. Leafs are going all the way

Belfour did need a break, but Ottawa isn't going to let up... expect the same thing you saw in game 1,2,3 and 4... plenty of shots... plenty of pressure, and hopefully Lalime can keep it up... and for the love of god, when is Pat Quinn going to drop the Hossa/Berard incident... he mentioned it again on Monday, more than 4 years after the accident happened... damn I hate Pat Quinn a lot...

Ya Flames!!!! Great game tonight. Can't wait for saturday and the flames to take the series at home. This city's going to go off!! Hopefully I can score some tickets tomorrow.

Go Flames Go!!
wooooohoooooooo!!

[ShannonW]

no kidding. that was totally the most stressful game I've watched so far this year. but so exciting and awesome!

[CanuckCourage]

I have to disagree with ya CC,

A slewfoot, elbow or crosscheck is part o the game buddy. How the heck are the D going to move peeps from in frony of the net with out a crosscheck? If every crosscheck in front of the net was a penalty then every d man is cheap. You ever tried to move 200 pounder by gently pushing him? Ha Ha I would like to see that.

Do I have to describe what a cheap crosscheck from behind looks like ? Use your head for christ sakes.

I saw a penalty called in overtime just the other day. So it is ok to commit penalties in ot cause the ref won't call em? Ya right.!!

Where do you get that from ? Either read what I said slower and look up the words you don't understand or don't insinuate what I was saying.

Take a slash to the wrist and see if you don't shake your hand. It was too bad he didn't finish the play. Had his wrist been broken does that make it ok for him to leave the puck?!!

Had he broken his wrist he would have had a reason for the dramatics, he didn't break his wrist and his play cost his team the game.

I think a cheap shot is defined by the injury, otherwise it is just a shot during the game. If it doesn't hurt it doesn't count. If you pay close attention to the game, especially if you are at one, watch what happens out there away from the puck. It is all dirty cheap shots only peeps aren't always hurt so it doesn't matter. This is an extremely physical game, they are big boys getting alot of money to burn, beat or kill the other team. !!

That's how people get broken legs and shit. If you play like that you would be kicked out of your "rec league" in a heartbeat.

Doesn't anyone remember the Philly Bullies from the 70's? My uncle is the Hammer from that team and is one of my alltime fav players. Maybe his headbutts were a little cheap but hey these guys are gladiators.

Let's keep old time hockey alive folks!!

Good for you , i'm sure he'd be proud about you standing up for cheap shots. You have no clue what old time hockey is . Old Time Hockey is when guys played tough , didn't shake their wrist like a sissy. Most importantly they respected each other, you ever hear that ? How no one has respect anymore ? Old time hockey is Bobby Baun scoring an OT winner on a broken leg not Kovalev shaking his wrist to lose the game..Old time hockey is not Ohlund hitting from behind. Go ask Uncle Davey what he thinks about hitting from behind.

Now that was a great game last night , Kiprusoff made some great saves, Auld as well. Super deflection by Iggy. Canucks were lucky to get the goal they did. Flames in 6. Can't wait for Saturday. :jump :jump

[grooveless touque]

I still say Flames in 7...

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THE REFEREES!! Calgary and Vancouver provide the most electrifying hockey in the league, and the refs simply refuse to allow them to play through. EVERYTHING is being called, and these two fast-paced, hard-hitting teams are being slowed down and the game is being destroyed by the parade to the penalty box. When two teams play as hard as these guys do, with a wide-open style, there are going to be slightly more infractions because the game is that much faster. A tight trap in the neutral zone is what everybody's complaining about, but it seems to be the only way to avoid penalties!

Ottawa and Toronto clutch, hook, hack and hold each other all game long and only have 8-10 penalties a game. The Canucks and Flames are trying to play a higher-energy, more wide-open game and getting penalized for it. Let them play!

Ouch CC,

Hey man I gotta say it again take off your figure skates and lace up some hockey skates. My uncle hammer's rep speaks for itself dude. You got some good examples of ol time hockey but those aren't the only two. Philly cups is old timey hockey buddy.

Do I use a dictionary to look up your big words? cratch:

Kicked outta my rec league? HA HA! Go watch an ASHL game in your town dude and you will see just what I'm talking about.

I missed the game last night but it looked like a good one, but the Pixies were better!

Saturday will be deadly, a triple header!

are we ever gonna trade our regina vids?

[sherpahigh]

Ooooooh yeah baby!! Scored 2 tickets to the game tomorrow. wooohoo. I'm the happiest guy in Calgary right now, well probably one of a couple thousand.

Go Flames Go!!!

I hope the Flames send those goons from the Coast packing. Here's to an Ottawa-Calgary final.... Oh, and world peace and flying porcupine's while we're at it.

haha, I'd like to see a flying porcupine actually. I think it's a real possibility that the Flames could make the final if they manage to win this series.

And I'll drink to an Ottawa-Calgary final as well, that would be amazing. Actually I suppose any all Canadian final would be pretty great, just not quite as great if Calgary's not part of it.

[clearlyentranced]

Stupid Sens, scoring on themselves. YOu know they're playing bad when Domi gets credit for a playoff goal. Get out your golf clubs Ottawa.

[grooveless touque]

That was pretty bad. Even if it hadn't gone off Smolinski's skate, the game would still have been 1-0 or even 0-0 in regulation, going into overtime. It just sickens me how good Belfour is, how he can keep bailing his team out game after game when they don't deserve to win. Last night was Toronto's best game of the playoffs and the only one they actually came close to deserving to win...

[AmbitionlessHipster]

Hey ladies I wasn't trying to be sexist. I meant that in Women's hockey you would be assessed a penalty for an open ice hit. They keep the contact to minimum in Women's hockey, where as in Men's hockey contact is encouraged. If we take out the contact and the rough stuff it ceases to be hockey.

Yes, those are the rules in women's hockey and house leagues have similar rules too. So because they don't "hit" or head-butt does that mean that women's hockey and house leagues "cease to be hockey".... still sounds sexist to me and unfounded.

Hey man I gotta say it again take off your figure skates and lace up some hockey skates.

Sexist again? or just stereotyping this time? or both?

Doesn't anyone remember the Philly Bullies from the 70's? My uncle is the Hammer from that team and is one of my alltime fav players. Maybe his headbutts were a little cheap but hey these guys are gladiators.

Headbutts a "little cheap"... yeah... bullies like that make really great hockey players, you know... always helping their team win

My uncle hammer's rep speaks for itself dude. You got some good examples of ol time hockey but those aren't the only two. Philly cups is old timey hockey buddy.

Yeh... great reputation... run and hide Beliveau, Richard, Gretzky, Orr... the headbutting hammer is coming. I cannot believe you think that the Flyers define old time hockey... HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA What, old time 30 years ago? Wow. Real history lies there.

[grooveless touque]

CALGARY SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORES!!!!

LISTEN TO THE CROWD!!! COMING BACK FROM 4-0 TO TIE IT!!!! GO FLAMES!!!

[das_hips]

Damn... Triple Overtime... if Calgary grabs this the crowd will go NUTS... GO FLAMES GO...

[grooveless touque]

GOD DAMN IT.
