The Darkest Canuck Wrote:they still do insane stunts though...hell he's even got his own son Shane doing some of the craziest shit EVER (jumping off the titantron!!!!!!!! WTF?!?!?!?!)...the risks are all still there...banned list of moves or not...poeple get hurt ALL the time (a lot of them continue to wrestle through their injuries too)...wether or not you end up hearing about it or not.If you watch the stuff now, compared to then, it's worlds apart. Unprotected chairshots, endless "gimick" matches (TLC, cages etc) and a very fast paced/high flying product. That Shane thing was done before WCW was bought out, during that same era. They very seldom go off the top rope/cage/ladder anymore. This is one of the complaints by some of the cruierweights as they are forced to wrestle a different style now as opposed to back then. And are therefore limited in what they are able to do.
But I do agree that they can seem to be injured just as much now as then.
One of the biggest problems is the fact that there is no union/job security in the WWE. That's probably why the majority of wrestlers (who use drugs/steroids) do them in the first place. They barely get paid when injured, and not pushed if they are small.
