According to the news my mom heard, Clemens won't be pitching on the road; he'll only pitch home games and he wont travel with the team on the road. How $#%#$ is that? He's not a baseball player, he's a mercenary!

The Clemens deal is total BS - I wonder how his teammates feel about this deal? Clemens needs to realize that no one player is bigger than the game itself. Not traveling to road games is F*ing dumb. On a lighter note - check this article, it's HI-larious:

IMHO - the Reds would have to be the biggest surprise out of all of those. I'm literally shocked at how well they are coming together this year. And to sweep the Astros and Cards back-to-back?! Wow. This could be a Red October...

Does Eric Wedge have any concept of how to coach in the major leagues? Any idea at all? The Tribe won last year IN SPITE OF HIM if you ask me.

Sometimes I wonder about that myself - but I really do not think he is the issue most times. It's usually the personnel he has to work with. Our players (especially the infielders for some reason) seem to be disinterested. Is it lack of effort? motivation?...I dunno. But they need to make some changes soon before this gets out of hand. Moving Peralta down to the 6 hole is not enough to say changes have been made. Sitting Peralta in favor of Merloni (or a call-up) would be. Dropping the ineffective pitchers (Johnson, Sauerbeck, Mota, etc..) and calling up some young arms would be. Simply moving these guys to places where their innings won't matter as much (blowouts, which we DO have a lot of) shouldn't be acceptable. We need to have a sense of urgency, and if Wedge is to blame for not having one, then I guess you are right. But...I can tell you this: as long as Shapiro is still the GM, Wedge is going to be there. Wedgie eats out of the palm of Shapiro's hand, and he loves him for it.

Yeah....I got a little frustrated when they had a disappointing May, essentially losing all the momentum they gained from having such a great April. But they have this city buzzing after taking 8 stright from division opponents, sweeping HOU and STL on the road. I'm lovin' it right now.

So that's gonna be my attitude -- appreciate and enjoy it in the short term, and if we're still in the thick of it come August, I'll start thinking "postseason".

The Reds have fallen apart oh so many times around the All-Star break, and with our bullpen and team defense, it could very well happen again....

Yeah, I know that Wedge is a stooge for Shapiro and they are a tightly knit pair of stooges. Shapiro has brought the Tribe back to respectability but I thought the deal was to GET BETTER from season to season, NOT REGRESS. The Indians players still can't bunt or steal. It isn't Shapiro's fault that almost all of the pitchers have been stinking up the joint this season but you gotta wonder if things will get better in Cleveland. Maybe it's Dolan being too dang cheap or maybe it's Shapiro or Wedge. Maybe the players just need to wisen up and care more. Whatever it is, I DO NOT blame the fans for not showing up. Until the Tribe prove they can win CONSISTENTLY and the fans can't EXPECT THE INEVITABLE LETDOWN, I don't blame the Cleveland fans one bit.

Face it, the Indians are not an exciting team to watch as of now. Why did they keep Graves up for as long as they did? As funny as it sounds, without Casey Blake this season they might be five or six games under .500. They have great hitters in Martinez, Hafner, and Sizemore is a good player but they can't play fundamental baseball. Martinez CANNOT THROW ANYONE OUT ON THE BASEPATHS. Is Peralta the next Jody Gerut? Is Aaron Boone EVER GOING TO SHOW UP?

my poor Yankees, now Giambi is injured too along with Damon, Jeter, Matsui, Sheffield, Dotel, and Crosby ...thank god Cabrerra and Phillips are stepping it up a notch this year...oh well, as long as they're healthy for the playoffs.
