[Stayhip]

I think the Oakville gig is priced the way it is because it is in the TO metro area. There are more people who are fans of the Hip, plus it is a 485 seat auditorium. I would expect prices to be higher in the TO area because there are more people who are fans of Gord and the Hip, thus more of a demand. I would be highly surprised and upset if they charged higher prices outside of the TO area, depending on the venue, because Gord and TCOM most likely will not sell out 5-10,000 seat venues by themselves. Besides, these days touring and selling merchandise at shows is what provides most mainstream and indie acts their living, not CDs. I would be surprised if The Grand Bounce, as awesome as it is, sells more than 150K records in Canada/US.

I believe and correct me if I am wrong Niagara-on-the-Lake is $61.00 and I can't miss that one it is 15 minutes away and its wine country :thumb:

Ditto! :thumb:

[Stayhip]

I think that is including all taxes if that makes anyone feel better...For me anyway I don't find it that bad to see my favorite band or artist especially in an intimate venue like that. I have been to U2 and other big name bands and you pay over $100 to be on the roof. I know you are saying well they are not as popular and that is why they are in this price range but who the hell can you see for much cheaper than this and you can still be sitting in the front row

Front row is the way to go.....who else sticks around to meet their fans??? That's a price I'm willing to pay :thumb:

Another date revealed!

Well, the actual date is unknown, but sometime on the Sep 23-26 weekend Gord Downie will be playing at Rifflandia Festival in Victoria, BC :thumb:

The price for this one is 65$ for the ENTIRE WEEKEND, including countless other bands. I'd say it's worth it.

Date and venue confirmed! Sept 24th at Market Square (tiny plaza downtown Victoria, strangest venue for Gord).

Is that including Gord Downie?? Cause damn, that seems like a good deal for sure.

I'm not so excited about the venue. From what I remember last year at Rifflandia, bands only played a 45 minute sets at this venue and it was during the day. Wish it was an indoor headlining set... still going to be there though, obviously.

[The Darkest Canuck]

Gord is headlining...funny thing is, people will still probably complain that it is too expensive. i will probably just do the day he's playing.

Already thought of it.

Just saying all three dates for PQ fall on a Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Sounds do-able.
